The show gets better and better with each episode... Stick with it, it will be worth the laugh out loud belly laughs!!!

We need more family friendly sitcoms like Kevin Can Wait on our TV screens!

I liked the pilot episode and I'm looking forward to see how the show grows. The pilot's plot set up the scenario for a possible direction for the show.

There were a couple of out-loud laughs, and a near-continuous smile on my face throughout the show. I've watched Kevin James on TV and in movies, but I cannot say that I'm a loyal fan. I enjoy his comedy when it's funny. So far,

I'm kind of shocked the reviews for this show aren't better. "Kevin Can Wait," is a charming half hour. It basically goes to show that it's easy to be a critic but comedy is hard. It's especially hard to make it look easy. A critic is, after all, just a person with an opinion, nothing more; and one who is possibly limited by a narrowly defined sense of humor. "Kevin Can Wait," started high and continues to improve. It's well placed among a smart line up and you can watch it with your entire family ... grandma included. Kevin James is a huge talent and he is complemented by a cast that steadily continues to gel. He ranks among the best physical comedians ever and is always likeable, even when his character is being a jerk. Gary Valentine is sensational and will surely become more prominently involved once the show has defined itself ... if the critics don't kill it off prematurely. The writing is crisp and the energy fast paced without being forced. There isn't a single weak character. I especially enjoy Kevin's pals, the other retired cops. This show completely nails 45 year old retired cops. I can attest to this from members of my own family (now full time amateur golfers). Don't listen to the critics or the snarky cynics! Give the show a chance! It's a funny, light hearted, gentle, half hour break from reality. Expand

This is the best series this year. There is so much king of Queens spirit in the air, even if this is a whole new thing. Kevin James and Gary valentine do great jobs. This show is funny, critical and not predictable at all. Didn't laugh that loud while watching for ages. I pray for season 2

This series is funny af. I don't know what you expected, but it brings the "old ghost" from King of Queens back!
Of course it has not the depth like "Suits", "Breaking Bad" or "Game of Thrones", but it is funny. Respect the work!

Kevin Can Wait is not an awful show. Its actually pretty funny, as Kevin James is, and the familiar family scenario while predictable, still manages to garner some good laughs. Much of the cast is obviously made up of James's personal friends, and his brother on the show, is actually his brother. Accordingly, there are a few guys who can't really act, and I'd be lying if I said that cringey dialogue was totally absent, but Kevin Can Wait is almost totally clean. Will this be winning any emmys, almost definitely not, but It is something that a family can watch together, and revel in the innocence of. Expand

Being a huge fan of King of Queens I was unsure if I was going to like this show. In fact, after reading a few negative reviews and comments I wasn't really that interested in watching it. Thankfully my wife and son both love Kevin James and wanted to at least check out the first episode! For a Pilot, I must admit I was very, very impressed. The humor kept me laughing regularly and none of it was forced. I love the setting of the show (the house and diner), and the characters seem to have great chemistry. Kevin's wife, played by Erin Hayes was very believable and she was really funny. I'm sure some fans of King of Queens had high expectations because Kevin's wife in that show played by Leah Remini set the bar pretty high. I enjoyed Erin as much or even more than Leah's character on his past show. I'm excited to see if this show stays on the air. Fingers crossed! Expand

I actually thought this show was pretty funny and the cast was funny as well. To me Kevin James is a lot like he was on King of Queens which was one of my favorite shows. Will be watching this show again.

If you liked King of Queens like I did, you'll love this. Exact same character, only a little older and not so stupid. But Erinn Hayes is the real star.

It did not take me long to renew my body through the manual release of toxins when I was alone in my basement. I just thought of Erinn Hayes up on a pulpit in an understated pantsuit that accentuates all the physical gifts that God gave

It did not take me long to renew my body through the manual release of toxins when I was alone in my basement. I just thought of Erinn Hayes up on a pulpit in an understated pantsuit that accentuates all the physical gifts that God gave her and it was like the Holy Spirit just gushed out of me.

And it was just 40-some minutes later when I was able to perform my toxin release again but my grandma came home early from her poker game and I had to stop because I'd be sort of embarrassed.

I would give my most firm hug to Errin if we ever did meet and I hope I could control my other less voluntary body functions because being that close would surely get my sensitivities on high alert and I hope she wouldn't be offended if she could feel my love for her when we did hug.

Love Kevin and Leah back together. I did not like season one, until the finale...Leah stole the show. The show is getting so much better. Maybe new writers. I know I have laughed out loud! Not too keen on the older kids. Kevin needs his bros....they need to have an expanded story line.

A very funny show, that has no vulgarity, sexual scenes, or violence. A true family friendly show, that has several of my favorite actors, and new ones. I love this show!!! and its very funny. LOL

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I enjoyed Kevin Can Wait Season 1 when it was on tv. I did not like the second season because of what they did to Leah Remini's character. They should have just added her character and not kill off the wife. It is a sad end to what looked like a promising show that was on its way to be a hit like Kevin's old show The King of Queens. Kevin Can Wait is the most ordinary of dumb-dad sitcoms. James, though, is so winning I wouldn't blame anyone for wanting to hang with him.

It feels less like a show of its own than a collection of hoary TV tropes--Schlumpy Guy With a Hot Wife, Wimpy Son-in-Law, Hypochondriac Kid--strung together in service of the pun in the title.
