While it doesn’t have much in common with its source material (in which the main character was part of a larger monster cosmology and ended up having to save the universe), iZombie seems to be building a distinctive little world of its own.

The show is moderately entertaining, mostly because of the appeal of the three leads.

Its constant narration and not-very-suspenseful murder of the week, iZombie feels like just another way to do a youth-oriented copshow, even if it’s garnished with flourishes like comicbook captions.

I loved the scene where the two zombies have zombie shop talk time, trying to coordinate how they are going to describe their slightly out of control zombie times ("raging out" vs. "full-on zombie mode") . And where the zombie guy addresses the question new audiences might have of "aren't zombies over now?" directly, in a way that is both chilling and humorous. Though it isn't perfect, there is a lot more material to work with than I thought there would be, and has many of the hallmarks of a Rob Thomas show-- sharp wit, sly cleverness, engaging characters, and interesting storylines. Looking forward to the rest of the season. Full Review »

Ok. At first I approached this series, a little skeptical of what would be brought to the table.
And to my surprise, the first time I watched it, I really enjoyed it a lot.
It has everything, mystery, humor, secrecy, horror, drama. But everything well done.
It's fresh, and brings a new look at the zombie genre.
Up that this zombie recipe grows up to be a big sucess.
