    An undead Veronica Mars reboot with its star zombie even sounding like Kristen Bell in those annoying voice overs. Ironic deadpan dialogue aside, the pilot feels more teen cop procedural than comic book inspired fun. I can see the zombie angle getting stale very fast. A talented cast and Rob Thomas flourishes throughout makes me think this effort should have been a lot better.     Not a terrible s great one either, and definitely overrated here on Metacritic. It tries way to hard to be funny when it isn't, its confusing, and it doesn't give us as much zombie action as it should. There are plenty of comics series that would've been much better to adapt then this.

    The series works. McIver is a great, unlikely heroine.... The show will have to make the weekly cases a bit more difficult to crack if they want to hold viewers' interest.
