This season so far has been absolutely phenomenal. Although the cast changes may take a while to get used to at the start, they soon become hilarious, lovable additions to the group. The humour is a bit wackier, which I love, and the lack of restraints of being on Yahoo instead of television really shows (Especially in running time of episodes). This season really has been fantastic and quirky.

If you're favorite parts of Community are the parts where they just stop caring about reality, you might find this to be the best season so far. Just sat through the first 3 episodes, I wasn't expecting much but they really surprised me with the quality of this new season. The fact they decided to just go completely insane with the plotlines was in my opinion, really smart.

No matter what happens, I'll always be excited for a new season of Community. It is one of the most original comedies of all-time and a personal favorite.

This season feels different, but in a good way. Shirley has left the group and Troy now being long gone, Community has added Frankie (played by Paget Brewster) and Elroy (played by the amazing Keith David). These additions are great and I'm very surprised how much I actually liked the Frankie character. She adds "the straight man" (or in the case woman) view that is missing from the group since... ever. And no matter what he is in, I love Keith David (Gargoyles ftw). The first two episodes were funny and full of Community-esque shenanigans.

I can see how fans of Community would be turned off from this new season being on Yahoo or the cast changes, but even if I didn't like the season that much, more Community is better than no Community. But , I actually did like the first two episodes and I think I will like the rest of the season. If you haven't tried Community yet, seasons 1-5 are on Hulu or check your local listings. I just hope Yahoo Screen's video player gets better...

    Pros:
+Having Yahoo! Screen as the new broadcaster for Community is a win-win situation for Yahoo! and the fans as more people will now go to Yahoo! while the fans of the show can rest easily with a broadcaster that wants a seventh season of the show (although the decision of a seventh season is up to the creator of the show Dan Harmon).
+New characters Frankie and Elroy (played by Paget Brewster and Keith David) fit in with the study group perfectly and serves as great replacements.
+There are a lot of memorable episodes from this season and some of them would be considered the best episodes of the show ever.

Honestly, I would have given most seasons of Community a 10, and even the odd season with Harmon was still charming in its own way, considering how close the characters had grown and the obvious chemistry between the actors.

But this feels different, somehow. Disjointed I think is the right word. It reminds me of the growing pains that a comedy goes through in the first season, without any of the energy. And this is coming from somebody who absolutely loves this show. I'm willing to put up with every ounce of craziness Community has to offer, but the lack of energy and confidence is concerning. I hope Community ends up as good as it was even last season, but losing Troy in particular really hurts. Troy and Abed could carry a whole season in the way that few television characters can. Without that dynamic, and with the show still searching for what it's really going to be now, it just makes for an awkward viewing experience. Usually the great thing about shows you love is that you don't have to see the growing pains anymore. I think of shows like New Girl or Workaholics, and it doesn't matter what the characters are doing or whether the plots are idiotic, you just like watching the characters be themselves. Community used to feel like that, but it doesn't anymore, and that's the difference.

That said, I'm responding to the first two episodes of the season, and there's plenty of room for improvement. I'll definitely keep watching just to see how everything plays out. It takes more than a couple bad episodes to give up on a show like this.

Watched the first two and they both felt really flat.

The frisbees on the roof was funny and there were a few good jokes but it feels a little off. Hopefully it will pick up.

Whatever Community was in first 3 season, it found hard to maintain it's quality later. While season 4 was bearable and season 5 was ordinary, season 6 was downright boring and almost impossible to watch.

Quality took serious hit and if I could I really want to stop the series by season 4. After that, it's not community anymore.

I was a big fan. Although the fifth season was already very uneven, season 6 is a bad joke without a punchline, just a slap in the face. The season seems mostly to be a commercial with lazy attempts at a storyline and everything the show originally had is all gone Pete Tong. There is no doubt that all the cast departures are felt during the thirteen episodes on offer here (that table just seems so empty) but Community’s sixth season still mostly makes for an entertaining watch, just don’t expect it to live up to the standards it set in its first few seasons.

It was an absolute miracle that this show made it to this season alone, after it was cancelled by NBC after season 5. And with the departure of Yvette Nicole Brown, they had lost another central cast member. However the additions of Paget Brewster and Keith David really helped shaped the final season of this amazing show. While the show never recovered from the departures of Chevy Chase and Donald Glover after, and during, season 5, I can finally say that the show went out on a good note. There were still alot of great ideas this season and they didn't rehash too much, beyond another paintball episode. Some running gags weren't in this season and fans of the show will notice them pretty early. And each episode was about 3-4 mins longer, and you'd be surprised to see how much that really changes the flow of things. Some for the good and some for the bad. But, if the show had ended after Season 4 or 5, I would have been fairly disappointed. However with this final season, the show sorta redeemed itself for those dreadful seasons. It never reached the heights of season 2 but very few, if any, shows have ever reached that point. It was a good send off for the gang and they were so close to their "6 Seasons and a Movie" line that was repeated quite a bit in the previous seasons. I know it was a miracle that this season ended up happening at all but, if somehow this show were to ever get a movie, that could somehow bring back Troy and Pierce in some form or another, it would be absolutely amazing. I give Dan Harmon a ton of credit for coming back to the show after he was dumped unceremoniously after Season 4 to come back and put out the fires that the new stand ins had created and he somewhat succeeded, even with the loss of two of the more notable characters on the show. To then bring the show to the internet, after it had been cancelled by NBC was something even larger than that. I fully recommend everyone to watch Seasons 1-3 of this show, skipping seasons 4 and the last half of 5 after Troy leaves, then going to this one. You'll have a general idea of who left but, in the end, its the experience of the show that matters, and just the genius ideas the show had all this time. You will not be disappointed Expand

Honestly I was pretty disappointed with the final season of Community. Overall it seemed to placate to what worked in previous seasons but then each episode seemed to lazily fizzle out. Going into this season I felt the combination of Yvette Nicole Brown, John Oliver and Jonathan Banks leaving could spell disaster. This is compounded as, unfortunately, I don't think Paget Brewster and Keith David quite matched up to quality of characters that come before them. Despite this, Community is a ship that refuses to sink and there were still many episodes that were hilarious. However, I do think that it is stopping at an appropriate time. I feel that it's become clear the tropes that Community uses and I'm glad it's ending before they become tiresome. Even whilst I think this, I can't deny the sense of sadness and catharsis I felt finally watching the last episode. It's a feeling that I only get with shows that I consistently like and it's evidence that despite some inconsistencies along the way Community has become one of my favourite shows and one that definitely lives up to the hype. It's a show that I would have no hesitancy recommending and one of the shows that I almost wish I could go back in time to watch it all fresh again. A huge amount of credit should go to everyone involved with this show as it is, on a whole series scale, a fantastic production.

Community continues to be a very good series, but is significantly less boring than the two previous seasons.
It still has the same issues, with humour coming first before anything else, which can be distracting or unimmersing sometimes.

It feels familiar and fresh, with myriad possibilities in front of it thanks to smart new cast additions and a renewed focus on those characters over just getting lost in the creatively inane.
