This has got to be one of the most listless and lifeless medical dramas I've seen in a long time. The characters are cardboard and need to be fleshed out further. The main actor's in the series are not to blame, they do the best they can with the tired and boring formula... And, that's the real problem with this series. It's boring! One last thing I noticed, and maybe this adds to the boredom factor, but the hospital sets and doctor's offices, etc. are downright claustrophobic. The show looks cheap. Code Black it's nearest rival is miles ahead of this one. Sorry, Dick Wolf. Expand

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Chicago Med marks yet another routine entry and doggedly follows the same beats as its forbears, most notably the Chicago-set ER.

Padded with kids including an unborn child in medical danger, its corridors filled to capacity with the most attractive doctors this side of an afternoon soap opera, Chicago Med is not a subtle enterprise.

None of these [Dick Wolf Chicago] shows are groundbreaking. All have dialogue is lumpy. But for viewers who crave the familiar, there is something comforting about attractive people saving the day.
