Legends is one of the last great 2D platformers, and to think we may never see a sequel simply saddens me.

It’s not worth the time of all but the most hardcore of fans.

While it doesn’t have the depth of a Monster Hunter game, it builds a great foundation for a potential sequel and due to its accessibility, it’s well worth checking out whether you’re a fan of the genre or not.

It may be a little short, but for $15 players get a great story to add onto The Last of Us, and those looking for another reason to jump back into the game have just found it.

King Oddball has a lot of levels on offer and its similarity to Angry Birds in terms of game play means it is a title which can be picked up and put down in order to pass a few minutes of time. However, it lacks the addictive nature, challenge, variety and charm of Angry Birds.

Super Sanctum TD may not push the envelope when it comes to Tower Defense, and it’s safe to say that the iOS App Store is a mass with other games in the same genre. But with other games desperate to part you from your wallet, Super Sanctum TD stands out as a well made game with nothing but love for the genre baked right in.

Jazzpunk is certainly enjoyable, but it isn’t without its flaws.

It is still fantastic to see where the series started and how far it has come. It is also great to see how much influence this unique action RPG has had on current games in the genre.

Surge Deluxe is perfect for a handheld system, allowing the player to dip in and out as they please.

It takes some getting used to with both the combat and the time mechanics, but after adjusting to how it wants to be played, it offers up a nice installment of the XIII series.

As it stands, it’s a difficult title to recommend at the current asking price, except to those that are die-hard fans of the genre.

Ultimately, I’d sum up Master Reboot by suggesting that it has, at its core, a great premise – a premise that is undermined by its own sloppiness in terms of graphics and game play mechanics.

The most important thing is that while I wasn’t in as much of a shock when I got to the cliffhanger at the end of this episode, I was left wanting more, and if episode three was installed and ready to go, there is no doubt in my mind that I would’ve happily played on.

This is still one of the best games of last year, and the enhancements make it one of the best looking games to come out in a while.

Battle of Z may not be revolutionary, but it does offer something a little different and rather fun for the DBZ fans out there.

Those tired of the main stream Michael Bay FPS offerings can try Insurgency in confidence, with the knowledge they’re about to play a different brand of FPS.

Players looking for the full Assassin’s Creed experience will be better off with Black Flag, but anyone looking for a more streamlined, less daunting game will find a lot to like here.

This is as close as we are going to get to a proper Dr. Mario sequel for a while, so while the prescription doesn’t cure all woes; it does help dull the pain.

NES Remix is a fun time waster that had me reliving the memories of my childhood once again.

Bravely Default stands currently as my first big game of the year contender and while there are a few minor missteps along the way, it’s still a giant leap forward for what a traditional JRPG should be in the modern age.

Hardcore RPG fans and pen and paper purists will get their fill with Blackguards both in combat and story. Just be prepared to do a lot of planning and possibly losing in order to succeed.

Clocking in at around twenty hours, there is little reason to play through a second time but as is the case with a great book, once picked up it’ll be difficult to put down and when this abearrant tale has finished bearing it all, you’ll put it down with a smile on your face.

The presentation promises much and is highly polished but it lies at the surface, working to conceal the more problematic aspects of the actual game itself.

Don’t Starve is all about trial and error. The first few play throughs often ended quickly; but with each passing game I learned something new and this, in turn, fueled my interest in the game and my desire to get it right the next time.

If you enjoy pinball in any shape or form, Zen Pinball 2 is a must download.

Even if you’re not a Metal Gear fan, if you enjoy lots of action and some fast-paced combat, you should really pick up Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

Overall, UFO Dad should be given some praise for attempting to break the mold of the traditional match-three puzzle game and adding something new to the mix. However, it is held back by game play that quickly becomes tedious rather than addictive.

Halo: Spartan Assault isn’t a terrible game, but more of a disappointing one. It is great that console players can finally play this once mobile-only title, and it is great the team added in the new co-op mode.
