Detective Pikachu is a cute and fun little game but it only offers enough challenge to satisfy an elementary school student.

Penny-Punching Princess is a promising arena beat 'em up with RPG elements and an innovative bribing system. However, its repetitive gameplay and steep difficulty make it an exercise in tedium. Here's hoping for a sequel that remedies its unfortunate shortcomings.

Level-5 has done it again as they delivered another thoroughly enjoyable JRPG thus proving that the genre isn't going anywhere. If you're not too disheartened by the lack of the slower-paced turn-based battle system and the monster collecting that was featured in the original then you'll have a ton of fun building your very own kingdom and traversing the stunning world of Ni no Kuni II.

As someone who's played every game in the trilogy, I must say that Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings ties it all together in a masterful way. I'm excited to see what Gust has in store for their next trilogy of delightful adventures.

Guns are stupid and so is this game. The American Dream may be clever from time to time and provide some laughs in the process but as a game, it's too full of bugs and lacks the substance that would have made it a must-have VR title.

Far Cry 5 is a massive game with tons of content and Far Cry Arcade has the potential to keep the game fresh and exciting for months to come. In the end, Far Cry 5 didn't make the most out of its rural setting and didn't innovate much on the typical Far Cry gameplay formula although it still ranks as one of the best games in the series.

I'm glad that so many classic Psikyo games are being re-released. However, Sol Divide: Sword of Darkness is one that only completionists should purchase because it's one of the most disappointing shmups that I've ever played.

Castle of Heart may look like a promising 2D action game that's reminiscent of the classics but it's so poorly designed that you'll want to plug in your NES so you can play a far superior selection of games.

A Way Out is possibly the best cooperative video game ever created. Its movie-quality cinematography, intuitive and varied gameplay, and engaging story full of unique stand-out scenarios make it one incredibly memorable interactive experience.

I had a good time with Q.U.B.E. 2, especially during the final couple hours of gameplay. Although the unappealing storyline and lack of additional content are substantial drawbacks, the core puzzle-solving experience is still quite a joy to play.

Assault Gunners is an odd game to dig out of obscurity. Thankfully, this HD Edition provides some fun for mech enthusiasts who love to craft custom creations but it certainly doesn't feel like a current generation experience.

Kirby Star Allies offers plenty of classic adorable Kirby action with oodles of exciting abilities to discover. It may not be the most fulfilling game in the long-running series but there's no denying just how much fun there is to be had.

With tight gameplay and flashy visuals, Danmaku Unlimited 3 is certainly a capable shmup. That being said, fans of the genre will desire a lot more variety, especially considering the fact that it doesn't bring anything new to the table.

Gal Gunvolt Burst is the same game as Mighty Gunvolt Burst and merely contains its Ekoro DLC by default. Therefore, it gets the same score. If you've never played it before then now's a great time to pick it up. It's fun retro 2D action in its purest form and the character customization is a blast. Let's just hope that Inti Creates does something a little more original for their next release.

If Gem Smashers posed any sort of challenge then it would be a good (if not, great) puzzler due to its unique mechanics and intuitive gameplay. Considering you can't even die, the only enjoyable way to play it is via local multiplayer.

Even if they were giving it away, I don't understand why anyone would sacrifice their time to play such a basic yet frustrating exercise in tedium. That is, unless they're reviewing it to warn others not to bother.

Pit People is a must-have game for its humour alone. Even though its gameplay doesn't live up to many other SRPGs, the fact that you'll be laughing as you cooperate with a friend makes it one of the most enjoyable and memorable entries in the genre.

As the debut release from Polyarc, Moss offers a surprisingly gorgeous world filled with wonder and delight. Seeing as its gameplay suffers from being a bit too basic and easy, I'm looking forward to a sequel that'll hopefully offer a longer and more fulfilling adventure.

Bravo Team is fairly enjoyable at the start but it quickly devolves into a repetitive and mindless shooter that unfortunately doesn't even live up to the classic light gun games of the mid-'90s.

When it comes to twin-stick shooting, Tesla vs Lovecraft definitely has a solid foundation that's a ton of fun. However, the limited scope of what you can do limits the experience and ends up making it feel repetitive after only a short while.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm delivers on its promise of a captivating story that brings humanity to the idea of presumably senseless teen angst. It's a joy to experience and the gameplay is fun where it can be found. Here's hoping for yet another series of episodes.

There's a lot to like about Rad Rodgers as it's a well-made platforming shooter fueled by '90s nostalgia. It's a bit on the short side and the visuals were too distracting for me but I'd still recommend retro gaming fans to give it a shot.

Frantics is a fantastic party game that controls impressively well using a mobile device. When you factor in the collection of 14 fully-realised mini-games, you're looking at a must-buy for those who love gaming with their chums.

Subsurface Circular does a good job with its graphics, sound, and storytelling. However, the brevity and lack of gameplay make it tough to recommend. It's clear that the developer is capable of something great but they stopped way too short to provide a meaningful and memorable experience.

As a huge fan of Scribblenauts, I'm happy to be able to enjoy more word-based mayhem even though the party formula becomes repetitive quite fast due to a limited variety of mini-games. You'll at least get a few hours of fun out of Scribblenauts Showdown but long-time fans such as myself will crave more classic sandbox fun after they experience all it has to offer.

Even though I prefer the arcade feel of the first game, de Blob 2 is certainly a must-have 3D platformer. Considering Blue Tongue Entertainment is no longer around, I hope THQ Nordic gets a developer to finally create a third game some time down the road.
