12 orbits doesn't require any prior knowledge, preparation time or additional controllers. Your left and right Joy-Con, or even the touch screen alone, are all you need for any number of players. The only limit is how close you'd like to be together.

12 orbits is colorful, friendly, fun, and sometimes a little chaotic. You will score goals, color spheres, defend your territory and try to grow as long as possible in 4 varied game modes. It’s you against all comers, or grouped as teams.

With simple rules and only one button per player, 12 orbits can be taught to anyone in no time. You can set up a new game in a matter of seconds, even for 12 players. And since each round only lasts about 5 minutes, there's always time for another quick match!

If you enjoy playing competitive local multiplayer experiences then 12 Orbits is a must-have game. Its deceptively simple gameplay dynamic and large selection of variations make for an addictive and enjoyable time with friends.

In general, I found 12 orbits to be just okay. The multiplayer options and modifiers were pretty impressive, and the developer deserves to be praised here. That being said, its lasting appeal is very limited and I fell out of it after a while. The simple look and similarities between the different modes caused my friends to get bored quickly. I really can't see this being the creator's true intentions.

Whilst not an essential purchase, 12 Orbits is great with a group of friends or family for shorter bursts of fun!

The concept is really well executed, and allows for a very fun overall experience, particularly for the price point. I have 2 main issues with the game, however they are very minor. The first is that even though there are 6 modes to play, I only ever find myself playing 2 of them, and although there is customization in each of the modes, once you find one you like, you usually stick with that mode. The major issue is that the frame rate can slow down a lot if you have masses of dots, which usually takes some effort, then the frame rate can drop considerably, but if the customization is set differently, this is never an issue.
