Cosmic Bump is a decent casual puzzler if you want something to waste a couple of minutes playing just to remove it when done. There is nothing really memorable, and the only thing I take away from it is the red alien spinning on a ledge due to wonky physics.

In the end, this is a perfectly acceptable rail-based shooter with great graphics. The problem is simply that shooters on rails just are not that fun on iOS.

Wild Blood leaves me both hungry for more, and cold for it at the same time. At it's core there is a great hack 'n slash experience, up there in fact with Gameloft's Hero of Sparta series, and at times even God of War (the definitive slasher). However, the constant badgering to spend more money through in-app-purchase leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

But boy is it tough. Even from the start.

I love much of what Dragon Island has to offer. There are just some elements that clearly lack the polish and depth of the Nintendo title it pays homage to.

Monkey Slam is a cute brick breaker that has all the strengths, and flaws of the genre. It might be better suited for a younger crowd than us old timers that have been breaking bricks for almost thirty years.

So hey, it's not original, but it's executed well enough to keep you bashing…if you know what I mean.

It also allows me, after weeks sitting in a darkened room with nothing but the game to keep me company, to create an absolute evil beast of a level to send to the developers and give them a taste of their own medicine. Yellow Monkey, your contact details are nearby. You've been warned.

When all is said and done Quantum Legacy HD was a clever idea that in the end worked less well. Combining on rails shooter mechanics with one to one dogfighting never really gets exciting.

Bug Invasion is a slow-paced tower defense games. The theme is disjointed, and I didn't find it challenging or stimulating. Bug Invasion is also riddled with technical issues, something other players have confirmed. All of the typical tower defense elements are here, and that's about it.

Eufloria is a great implementation of real time strategy on iOS devices. The art will relax you, and the challenge can keep you at the edge of your seat (the game does include a more relaxed mode). Don't hesitate to give Eufloria a shot.

Slightly disappointing is the amount of content.

Splice is the most immersive puzzle game I have played the last couple of years.

I absolutely fell in love with 10000000. It seamlessly blends multiple genres in a way I have not seen since PuzzleQuest. It has a tastefully executed 8-bit music and art style that is a joy. Other than a couple of small control issues, this game is nearly perfect and I have no problem recommending it to anyone.

Controls are simple and effective. A two-way control pad for movement and two large buttons for jumping and sliding under low platforms. They're responsive and work well without getting in the way.

Overall, Blast A Way is great puzzle game. It's beautifully presented, but more importably its fresh and challenging, with that all important 'one more try' factor.

The Last Driver is a free game that is worth giving a go for a couple of hours. Too soon the missions start repeating, and the game becomes a chore. The lacklustre presentation also limits the longtime appeal. Download, smash some zombies to hearts delight, and delete.

It's not that there is no enjoyment to be found in Horn, but one really has to get their hands dirty with the negative aspects of the game to find it scattered about.

Succeeds where it matters: it is fun. From the first levels to the 75th I had a blast. With variation between levels, and some really challenging shots it is easy to get hooked for hours.

A pretty great little game. It has a couple of annoying control issues that popped up now and then, but it is well worth checking out. It has a great difficulty curve that will appeal to both casual and hardcore gamers alike.

KooZac definitely has some fresh ideas, and once you get the hang of the mechanic it is fun to solve the puzzles. Too soon it feels like it doesn't go anywhere, and I never got hooked the way I got to for example Bejeweled.

It's much too rough around the edges to be The Best Game Everâ„¢, but it's still worth some choice moments of your time due to it's scale, ambition and the fact you know it was made with a whole lot of love. Just don't expect to be playing it to infinity.

The presentation is cute, and highly functional. I must mention that the game is universal, but because of the freemium nature with waiting periods and being played in portrait mode I prefer it on the iPhone. Being able to quickly tax my empire when standing in line is great.
