It's just that it's not going to be overwhelming, and with so many incredibly solid SRPGs on the PS2 at this point, Chaos Wars doesn't really have what it takes to stand out.

For about the price of a DVD offering a flashback look at classic gaming, you’re getting the story of the company, told by the people who were there, and then you can experience their handiwork.

With The Force Unleashed II, LucasArts has made notable improvements regarding visuals and combat. However, the story is so short and lackluster, you'll quickly wonder why you're playing.

In the end, NBA 08 offers enough outside stuff to distract from the fact that the core game of basketball is seriously lacking when compared to the other games on the market -- it's simply a matter of how much distraction there actually is.

The minigames and Sunny's bits are quite well-done, but the lackluster audio, sloppy controls and general lack of graphical punch drag the experience down.

The stuff surrounding the fights is well-engineered, but the fights themselves are just too blah to keep the interest up once the novelty of betting and planning out a fight gets old.

Not really worth even the $15 price tag. You are better off putting that money towards a higher budget FPS title.

Post-patch SOCOM: Confrontation is a highly enjoyable online tactical shooter with an emphasis on realism and teamwork, but unfortunately the game has a few shortcomings and missing features preventing it from being something special.

Blitz did contribute some nice personality into things, but the underlying gameplay is so generic that it’s a wonder Namco would even allow a game like this to be published. It’s not that it’s bad, just that a hallmark of video games shouldn’t be allowed to sink into mediocrity, and that’s sadly what’s happening here.

The best game in the series. It offers more road, more opponents and more customization options than any of the TXRs that came before it, but with gameplay that’s hardly budged since the series’ inception and graphics and sound that are merely passing.

The strength of STACKED's AI is what holds the game up. The presentation is lackluster, the audio basic and the character creation severely lacking. Even with all that, this is still the best poker game out there. It's just not a must-have.

It's possible that this will end up being the high end of the scores for the game [Ed: not even, Sam!] -- and Lord knows it could have gone lower, but in the midst of realizing I'd wasted as much time as I did playing, I remembered too that, for a time, I had fun doing it.

It's certainly not a perfect game, and barely uses the license at all (which is probably a good thing), but for a portable shooter, something the PSP sorely needs, it works beautifully. If only those rough spots weren't so rough.

Atelier Iris 3's biggest problem is just that it doesn't have any glaring mistakes. Instead, the game is so painfully mediocre that it's a struggle to keep going, not because you're hating the game, but because you're just plain bored.

A step back from the first game, lacking the retro appeal and suffering from what seems to be lazy level design and a paucity of textures. It's still fun to swing around, just not for the half-dozen hours it takes to slog through the whole experience.

The game is by no means for everyone, but with amazingly good graphics, a theme and feel that stick remarkably close the movie, and enough challenge to keep the game from being beaten in a few hours, Finding Nemo presents the first really attractive Disney movie/game tie-in in years.

Fuse seems like it took the template for a co-op shooter and forgot to take the time to modify that template to give the game a soul. Much like the title of the game, Fuse is generic and easily forgotten.

If this is the sort of thing that's going to come out of Sony consolidating their worldwide development studios, we're in for some seriously kick-ass looking games -- and sooner than most probably think.

A very, very solid and semi-interactive version of the cartoon, Harvey Birdman may be as inept in court as the game's namesake, but all of the humor and interesting takes on classic characters come through just fine.

The game is probably about 5 hours of gameplay, and another half hour of extras. Once you’ve unlocked it all, the game will probably collect dust. For that reason, it’s hard to recommend it to anyone but the most ardent Britney fan.

ModNation Racers: Road Trip has a ton of content, but quantity doesn't beget quality. Obviously rushed out the door for launch, it captures little of what made the console release so charming. Steer clear, there are far better racers on the market.

Good enough to be a solid rental, but anything else and you'll wonder exactly how many times you can run from room to room smacking broken record-voiced enemies over and over again to make things worth your $50. Trust me, even with the number of times you'll revisit levels and bust out the same combo chain, it's not enough.

While it might seem like this is a better game than the first, it's really just as broken. It's better programmed to be sure, but the insanely deep gameplay is still just as muddled behind clunky menus and brain-dead battles.

The problem is, while they were spending all this time building up the game off the court, throwing in pawn shops and underground side bets on games, they forgot to concentrate on the actual game of street ball itself...Fun is something that Street Hoops just seems to be lacking.
