Started as a project at the University of Southern California, Winterbottom has traveled a long journey to make his debut on Xbox Live Arcade. Although it has a few small issues, it is an otherwise stellar first offering from the promising folks at The Odd Gentlemen.

There’s no compelling reason to download this episode by itself—and this limp-wristed return to horror leaves a lot to be desired.

If there’s a single word I’d label Fireteam Bravo 3 with, it’s filler.

The story is forgettable, the atmosphere lacking and any promised scares are absent. The campaigns are too short, even when added together, and the standout moments are, sadly, very rare. The game’s melee combat is commendable, but ultimately hindered by the flawed grab attack mechanic.

Overall, though, Aliens vs. Predator is a dream game for fans of the source material and, despite lacking a slick coat of whiz-bang graphical polish, ranks as one of the most unique and absorbing first-person titles for the PS3.

It has the clever writing and style that made the previous games so amazing.

If you’re looking for a fair value and a unique take on two stagnant genres, you can’t do much better than Darwinia+.

The story feels disconnected and isn’t as strong as its predecessor but the gameplay has been improved upon for a much more enjoyable and fluid combat system.

Dante’s Inferno starts off big, consistently introducing new enemy types and grand environments, but by the end of the game that initial excitement turns to repetition as you fight through wave after wave of the same enemy type in increasingly familiar territory.

It’s a game that doesn’t commit any great—wait for it—sin, but it’s so dead-set on copying a superior game that it’s destined for mediocrity.

The surprises aren't there and neither is the awe one feels the first time they booted-up their copy of BioShock and laid eyes on Rapture.

It can be gruelingly repetitive. But it's a game with quirky charm; if you are persistent, you are always compelled to see what happens next, and what the next dungeon looks like.

It’s totally super awesome. And stuff.

At around 40 minutes Battle of Forli is also an extremely short piece of DLC. The cheap price of 320 Microsoft Points can justify it, but for such a small amount of content and the same gameplay we’ve already spent 15 hours playing, it isn’t really worth it.

Hustle Kings is one of the most enjoyable and sizeable PSN games in a long time, and quite possibly the finest pool or billiards replication ever committed to a videogame.

The fabulous storytelling, innovative dialogue system and impact of your choices remains in full force, and that’s all you really need to make a great RPG: the actual role-playing. The commitment from Bioware in making this franchise the best it can be is astounding.

Mass Effect 2 is a triumph of an action game, blending satisfying shooter levels with dark themes and hours of heated debate.

Regardless of how you approach it, Desperate Struggle is an amazing game. It takes everything that worked from the previous title and expanded upon it, and fixes nearly everything else.

The multiplayer makes it even better; the competitive online gameplay is among the best on the Wii. It doesn’t really matter if you know only half the cast; Tatsunoko VS Capcom is one of the best fighters out there.

The only thing Death By Cube has to offer that its competition doesn't is an excessive level of blood (or red robot oil), but that alone doesn't warrant a purchase.

The problem is that the motion sensing is abysmal; the game will frequently misread your commands, resulting in your character shuffling through the stances until he either miraculously makes it through or smashes his head into a bloody pulp.

There aren’t enough new features to cater fans of the series and the gameplay just doesn’t hold up for newcomers.

It’s just a shame that the solid fundamentals laid out by the original Army of Two couldn’t be built on in this sequel.

Vancouver 2010 has its moments, but they’re exhausted within an hour’s play.

At least the unlockables provide a good reason to keep coming back for more. It’s hardly a perfect game, but it’s still fun. The pilots of Sky Crawlers were right; the war might not be real, but it’s still entertaining.

Vigil Games has created a superb protagonist here, as Darksiders proves that its brawn isn’t a world away from the excellence of Bayonetta.

The apocalypse could’ve been more.

Bayonetta is a spectacular game. The combat is truly exceptional, taking the baton from games like Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden and blowing them out of the water.
