But the game's appeal is short-lived despite its unusually large amount of content, and its lack of an addictive gameplay hook won't knock Peggle off its pedestal any time soon.

Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles isn’t the best light-gun shooter on Wii, and generally speaking, it feels like Capcom skimped a bit with respect to extras. Still, folks are getting quite a hefty story, and the pacing of most chapters makes for a fun, casual ride down memory lane.

It’s disappointing there are no missions that allow you to employ all of your squads together, as this would’ve been particularly rewarding and beneficial in the final conflict.

It can easily become a sensory overload and the tower balance could have used a little more tweaking, but under its simple premise there is a fulfilling strategy experience.

From a sum of its parts standpoint, I probably shouldn't have liked it as much as I did, but it is a satisfying diversion that I do recommend.

Top Spin 3 isn’t your friend, it’s not going to hold your hand and take you through the motions.

The interesting decisions and the gripping characters still manage to hook their addictive claws into the player and almost make it easy forget about the game’s many shortcomings. In this case, “almost” is good enough.

Appropriately many have labeled Thongs of Virtue as simply DeathSpank 1.5.

It’s a brilliant piece of interface design, the defining moment for which will come when the player realises that they’re giving a massage to the device they read their e-mails on.

The sky isn't the limit, but there is plenty of reason to wander around the casual world of New Little King's Story, even if it's just to see what's there.

Naruto: Rise of a Ninja is good enough that non-fans of the show would do themselves good by playing it.

The puzzle sections are great fun, and could have been their own game. As it stands, however, the Race mode just doesn't cut it.

The last push and final confrontation are a union of repetition and frustration, overstaying its welcome and almost undoing the good work. Bookended by a flat beginning and ending, it's the entertaining centre of this adventure that is its strong suit.

Some of that pleasure is tempered by an imbalance in the games puzzle progression and the reuses of a handful of puzzle templates, but with a little tweaking and another exotic case to be cracked, Puzzle Agent could become a series consistently worth solving.

At its core, Joe Danger has intensely enjoyable gameplay, that can sometimes be held back by superfluous elements. If Hello Games had focused solely on crazy stunts, it could’ve found a stronger identity.

'Be a Pro' is interesting, but far from reaching its true potential. FIFA 08 is like many a top team’s season; plenty of the sublime, but some glaring errors hold it back from greatness.

Throw in cool rapport between Kim and friends Wade and Ron, fairly good tunes, and a turn playing as a naked mole rat (ooh, provocative!), and you've got a winner.

For now though this is a nice, but flawed, distraction whose general approach and gunplay should at least make B-movie fans proud. We just need a bit more substance to go along with all of that style.

It’s got a wonderfully dark an original story, which is complemented with dynamic (if not slightly cliched) characters. The gameplay is straightforward and to the point; fans of action games will have their hands full with small armies of ghouls and 48 bosses to defeat. On the other hand, the combat is incredibly shallow and the game has little difficulty to speak of.

Trenched follows a well-worn formula with dustings of humor and a self-aware annoyance at its own conformity. That gives it an edge. What it loses out on is the creative soul of past projects, the manic energy of something like Psychonauts.

Stubbs might be left craving a few more brains and he might have wished that he could have done a little bit more than just feast and fart, but I think that by the time Punchbowl and love have been conquered, Stubbs is reasonably satisfied with the second chance he was given for life and love.
