If you’re seeking a horror title that ditches slow-burn narrative for raw, pulse-pounding adrenaline, Narcissus will scratch a very specific itch. It isn’t here to tell a sprawling space opera; it is here to trap you in a steel coffin with your nightmares and see how long you survive.

If you are determined to play a vertically scrolling shooter, then Exo-Calibre may scratch an itch for a little while. But don’t expect to get too excited by what it delivers. There’s no way this is awful, but Exo-Calibre does commit the cardinal sin for a game - it is just a bit boring.

On PC, making the most of keyboard and mouse, Revival: Recolonization would make a lot more sense. But on the Xbox? Using a controller? Well, frankly the control scheme is awful and the game mechanics are a closely kept secret.

There’s no doubt that Spray Paint Simulator is a great little addition to the burgeoning ‘cosy jobs’ genre that PowerWash Simulator kicked off in style. It’s not quite as addictive to paint than clean, but this is an extremely familiar setup that will draw in many.

Novel Rogue is a decent excursion from the usual KEMCO fare, and is well worth a look. The weak storytelling is offset by the deep card based fighting system, and the game as a whole works well.

Although I, Robot is long forgotten or unknown by many, Jeff Minter and Llamasoft have done a brilliant job of bringing this hugely important game back into the spotlight, whilst adding their signature touch.

The games included in Gex Trilogy are undeniably fun, and stem from a time when gameplay was the most important thing. That ethos shines through in everything found in this reissue.

I had a great time playing Stasis, as it reminds of how good a point-and-click adventure can be, dragging up memories of old '90s games and films in the process.

You’ll be left impressed by Antro. There’s some great story set-up, and the gameplay is fast, fun and easy to get your head around. It does frustrate on occasion, especially in the free-running sections, but the music and visuals provide great sights and sounds to keep you interested.

MANIAC will roll back the years, whisking you away to those early experiences with Grand Theft Auto. It has a very arcade-like feel to it, with quick gameplay loops and exciting action.

It’s a nice comforting game to re-engage with, as ISLANDERS: New Shores adds in just enough improvements to justify being a sequel. The boon system is a great addition, as are the new buildings and islands on offer.

Another short completion in the world of Banban, Missing Banban offers up something fresh for the franchise. Perhaps a side-scrolling platformer wasn’t first choice on the list for series enthusiasts, but it plays surprisingly well.

I never found myself truly invested in Vessels of Decay. It’s a unique and beautiful world, but that on its own isn’t enough to justify the frustration of playing.

Cyber Tank Nano is only appropriate for those willing to endure a perpetual state of confusion from the rage inducing solutions, made all the more disappointing due to the few things this title does do right, and in turn, what it could have been.

Against the Storm won’t be a game for everyone, but for those who love the early gameplay of city builders, it’ll be an incredibly satisfying game that can easily provide dozens of hours of fun.

With only a slight downside, and a bargain price to boot, recommending God of Weapons is a piece of cake - if you like Vampire survivors, then try this one.

I like what Atari has been doing with all their recharging of those old classic arcade games, and Missile Command Delta is no different. It's a full-on reimagining, and the addition of a proper story is appreciated. The gameplay itself will sit well with a lot of people, especially those who are into turn-based card strategy games, but others may well find it starts to frustrate as the difficulty rises.

Fireball 2 is a fun game that has an affordable price tag and can easily take up several hours of your day if you let it. It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re looking to scratch that arcade survival itch.

Excitement you may not necessarily find, but should you be ready to immerse yourself in a two-wheeled world full of brutality and athletic desires, Tour de France 2025 should finally be considered.

The annoyances with Dustwind: Resistance outweigh the good points. There is no doubt that it is a solid enough game, with a few good ideas, but they are buried beneath a layer of obtuseness that makes playing Dustwind: Resistance a chore.

Death Kid provides exciting gameplay with some especially lovely attention to detail when it comes to enemy design and variety. The animations are always stellar, but I left wishing the story was a bit less surface level.

Better late than never, but Final Fantasy XVI’s arrival on Xbox is a very welcome one. If you can stomach the unnecessary entry fee for a two-year-old game – or wait for a sale – then a thrilling action-RPG awaits.

You’ll love the story, soundtrack, and visuals of Vasilisa and Baba Yaga as it looks to transport you to a different culture and fantasy world that feels different, yet familiar. However, the gameplay doesn’t click in quite the same way; stealth sections become too annoying, the combat too repetitive, and the jumping mechanics and some of the QTE sections are a bit stale.

That new addiction? It's found in Soulstone Survivors. If you're familiar with the genre, dive right in, enjoy the depth it allows; embrace the grind for an eternity. And if you're new, green to this new found world, good luck - you're about to lose a whole chunk of your life.

Zombie Cure Lab is a refreshing antidote to the usual headshots-and-shotguns zombie formula, blending upbeat strategy and base building with a surprising dose of humour. Sadly, on Xbox Series X, it is also riddled with technical woes, awkward menus, and control hiccups that make curing the undead more frustrating than fun.
