There are a lot of unique and cool mechanics in Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer's Legacy, but, the performance and the gameplay need some major tweaking for it to become truly engaging.

Alien Breakout will not be your first choice platformer, but it’s completely serviceable if you’re just looking to kill some time and rack up that precious Gamerscore.

If you’re after a fascinating story and exciting boss fights, you will probably want to look elsewhere, but for the most part Exception is a more than capable platformer that brings plenty of variation through transforming levels, offers a ton of content and has some highly addictive gameplay elements to be enjoyed.

Ready, Steady, Ship! is an uneven experience, albeit a fairly substantial one. It’s a little more fun when you get a friend involved, but there are other titles in the genre that have done it better.

Know by heart… can be an incisive, sad and elegant game. It’s got its snow-covered mitts on a fantastic idea, and it knows how to wring it for every last emotional drop. It isn’t necessarily subtle at doing so, and the ending could have offered a little more insight or something unexpected, but it’s effective.

Despite the almost imperceptible attempts to make Volgarr the Viking II a bit easier to live with, it hasn’t really worked - the game is as hard as nails. It is hard for hard’s sake, as far as I can see, and that means the enjoyment levels drop a little.

If the idea of a meditative, borderline ASMR puzzle about cats tickles you, then pick up Hidden Shapes: Animals + Lovely Cats.

Snezhinka doesn’t reinvent the wheel, instead opting to build upon the fast-paced action of its predecessor. The improvements aren’t huge, but there’s certainly added variety in the equipment, the enemies, and new narratives to be found here.

Puzzle-lovers should note that Him & Her Collection is a hefty compendium, and it has a lot to offer to anyone that plays in short doses.

Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered is a good game, there is a lot to do, and it comes with a decent price tag, but it feels like a ghost of the past compared to the excellent newer games and whilst that leaves it as a must try for Assassin’s Creed completionists, those brought up on Unity, Syndicate and Origins may disagree.

Agatha Knife is a strange game. It is sometimes simple and a tad shallow, it’ll offend some and irritate others. It does nothing new for the Point and Click adventure game. But the further I delved, the stronger my resolve to see its conclusion. I cared about Agatha and the struggles she faced. I can’t remember the last time I sniggered so much at a video game.

Soulstice feels like it is from another generation but it is still a good looking, modern game that plays well. The combat is fluid and challenging, the backdrops are amazing at times and the story is intriguing. However, Soulstice does get a bit 'cut and paste' after a while and getting to grips with the camera is always a hassle.

The Nameless City isn’t the first, and it won’t be the last, to examine and play around with the works of H.P. Lovecraft. I liked the adaptation of this short story into what is a very short gaming experience. The exploration, the spell mechanics, and the light puzzle-solving work well, and there is most definitely a bit of a market for these short-story games.

For the price, Welcome to Hanwell is indeed worth a look, even if just to enjoy the visuals and the odd jump scare.

If it wasn’t for the cool 1980’s vibe, Kung Fury: Street Rage - Ultimate Edition would probably be dismissed out of hand, as at times it falls into the “so bad, it’s good” category. The included DLC does expand the horizon a little, but this is a very hard game to rate. I personally loved the whole feel of the game and so should you be at one with the 1980s, Kung Fu, and battering the hell out of some Nazi forces, then this is an easy sell.

Deep Beyond is a great little gaming experience. It may be over in a couple of hours, running a very linear, guided experience, but for the price it feels like a good deal.

Overall and there is a decent little game found within Fearful Symmetry & the Cursed Prince. It has a brilliant concept, a nice retro design and some decent puzzling gameplay.

It's great that the creative vision of the developer is out there in the world of Scorn. The bold choice of not having any hints about what to do and no leading narrative is a courageous one; one that I applaud. What lets Scorn down though is the fact that the puzzles aren't that inspiring, a bit too bland.

The 9th Charnel is an interesting game. The survival horror elements, including the tension and stealth, are solid. Your heart will be racing throughout, and the lack of combat effectiveness adds to the fear. However, the enemy AI can feel a bit off and annoying at times.

If you’re pining for Guitar Hero and Rock Band, and are willing to accept a tribute act that is low on peripherals and high on tunes that are inspired by rock and metal hits of the past forty years or so, then maybe you should hitch a ride on LOUD: My Road To Fame.

On your own it is a great game for a quick five minute fix, although longer sessions can get frustrating thanks to the unusual control scheme. If you play with friends however then the game is transformed and I’m hard pressed to remember a game in recent times that has given me more of a laugh than this has when enjoyed with company.

Hello Neighbor is not a game that should be taken lightly, but it is one that will polarize the fans. I’m on the side that enjoyed it, even though at the start it was nothing near enjoyable. You will fancy it too if you can accept that it means well and forgive the game’s flaws.

Fluffy Milo delivers a wholesome Sokoban puzzler that’s easy enough for most to get to grips with. The difficulty curve is absolutely spot on and you’ll seldom feel any puzzle is beyond solving as long as it’s approached logically.
