Ritual: Crown of Horns on Xbox One deserves your time. It’s an engaging experience that’ll find you wanting to quickly run through a bite-sized level yet straining to put the controller back down. It’s unique Grindhouse aesthetic can’t lift it up enough to stand beside the best of the genre yet it should be lauded for being such a strong package that accomplishes what it set out to achieve.

There is a lot to admire and enjoy about Out Of The Box with its originality and unusual gaming techniques. The story is a very good one, full of moral declines, doomed romance, and evil crimelords. The actual gameplay is brilliant at first too, but it does start to tire as things progress.

Moons of Madness on Xbox One offers some fascinating slow-burn horror and nostalgic Alien-esque visuals, but it lets that down by bogging down playtime with arbitrary objectives and attempts to go much bigger than the story should be. If you are a fan of cosmic or slow-burn horror, Moons of Madness is certainly worth checking out, but it won't be forging any new fans for the genre.

Is this Game Trying to Kill Me? is a fun and thoughtful game that will tax your brain for a couple of hours. The narrative and setup are fine but it's not going to rival anything in terms of storytelling. This is all about solving puzzles, working your way through two interconnecting worlds.

Black Paradox is an admirable effort on many fronts and a worthy challenge which rewards extended time and effort. It doesn’t quite achieve the compromised balance it attempts to, and often the artistic ambitions get in the way of its many gameplay ambitions. Ironically enough, all of the contrasting visual and gameplay elements in Black Paradox make it a shmup experience that is, quite literally, paradoxical.

I like what Atari has been doing with all their recharging of those old classic arcade games, and Missile Command Delta is no different. It's a full-on reimagining, and the addition of a proper story is appreciated. The gameplay itself will sit well with a lot of people, especially those who are into turn-based card strategy games, but others may well find it starts to frustrate as the difficulty rises.

Adios Amigos is an interesting game. The blend of cartoon action and physics is good fun, and the fact that it is different each time you play makes it more appealing. It’s not the lengthiest game in the world, but the action that is here, especially running across local co-op and being suitable for kids, makes it worth a whirl.

Given that AntVentor is merely the first act of an AntTrilogy, it does a decent-ish job at setting the scene, leaving you with slight interest as to what the future holds for Florantine.

Picking up Noel the Mortal Fate is dependent upon your love for storytelling, because that’s the real draw here. The rest is just an average accompaniment.

I was surprised by the depth of story found in I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream, and how adventurous it feels for a game to take it on. A bleak tale, sometimes a bit depressing, there is still something very unique about it.

If you want something that you can enjoy for hours on end, then you may find a bit of a struggle after you’ve experienced every map and mode, but there is still plenty of fun to be had with this surprisingly challenging multiplayer adventure.

Worms Rumble is not a badly made game by any means, but it feels like a strange release and may well be a case of being something that nobody has really called for. If you keep an open mind there is plenty of fun to be had here, but whether or not this is able to gather up a player base with enough folk getting ready to rumble is up for debate.

The story of Genso Chronicles is good, and the gameplay is satisfyingly grindy, with the creation of a better weapon delivering quite a decent feeling. The bond system is a bit strange though, but then, it’s always nice to have something different in a KEMCO game.

Even though I loved my time with Arctic Awakening, it did frustrate me in equal measure. The pacing is sometimes off, and there are moments when the story wanders off track. But the overall premise is great, and the visuals and soundtrack are lovely.

Goat Simulator 3 - Multiverse of Nonsense isn’t massively long, and while it will take a decent amount of time to get all the new cosmetic items that are available, I do have concerns about the overall longevity. Aside from that though, you shouldn’t turn down the opportunity to embark on more nonsense with Goat Simulator 3.

Despite its cute visuals and some great moments of exploring the game’s world, Monster Sanctuary on Xbox feels relatively hollow. There is plenty of content to keep the most dedicated of min-maxing enthusiasts busy, especially if one ventures into online battles against others, but the game owes too much of its identity to the past. If it leaned more into the unique metroidvania ideas, had a more interesting story, and felt less like homework, Monster Sanctuary would have been something truly special.

I've enjoyed my time with this combination of ideas, but because of how harsh it can be, Convoy: A Tactical Roguelike on Xbox One is going to be a game that will either appeal massively or frustrate hugely. In fact, whether you get on with this weird mismatch of genres will come down to one thing - whether or not you like your gaming to be luck-based.

Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengeance of the Slayer is one of those games in which the creative choices should be applauded; at times, it feels genius. But the gameplay does get a bit tiresome after a while and the lack of direction is frustrating.

Outer Wilds provides an incredible and imaginative solar system to explore, one that is filled with genuine mystery and wonder, immersive music and an imaginative sci-fi lore. Still, the issues in control, gameplay, and level design hamper the intended blissful exploration which it tries to build its premise around.

Whilst Megaman Legacy Collection 2 will be a welcome arrival for any fan of the Megaman series, I can’t help but feel it would have been nicer to see a few more evolved features make an appearance, and maybe even a full graphical upgrade too

The thing with Mekorama is that it’s partially missing that killer puzzle game feature. It has ideas, but not enough of them versus the amount of levels that are on offer. As a result some stages can feel repetitive, meaning when you hit a difficult one you’ll most likely give up quicker than you otherwise would have done.

For the most part the game does a great job at being a strategic and thought-provoking turn-based strategy game. And the humour provides an excellent layer of polish and enthusiasm which makes playing Attack of the Earthlings much more enjoyable.

Difficulty spikes and harsh save systems aside, there is a cracking, compact little Metroidvania to explore in Witchcrafty. If you’re partial to the thrills of getting further than you did before, racing to a save point before the last health pip gets removed from you, then Witchcrafty has skills in that department.
