With TEN - Ten Rooms, Ten Seconds **you know exactly what you’re getting - a fast paced platformer that puts your reflexes to the test. It’s an enjoyable, no frills ride while it lasts.

Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock is an awesome game – at least when played on the platform it was built for. On Xbox One though, with the limited controls available, it’s still an engaging strategy game, but it really struggles with the sheer complexity that is at hand.

If you have a like minded group of friends then this is a good game, but if you are a single player, then only serious masochists need apply.

You’ll emerge from John Wick Hex on the Xbox bruised and a little scarred, but ultimately satisfied. It ambushes you with more randomness than you might like and then kicks you while you’re down, but you’ll dust yourself off and get into a flow that makes you feel like a badass. It may not be the game you expected from the John Wick universe, but it’s got enough peaks to make it worth a shot.

Nothing could come close to the climax of episode three, but episode four manages to offer a better all-round experience.

Robophobik on Xbox is pretty good. There are a good deal of levels to go at, and the bosses are certainly challenging, with everything complemented by a backstory to enjoy which adds to the immersion.

The design, some gameplay elements and the audio are excellent, and the ambition of telling a straight forward teenage love story with some family drama thrown into the mix should be applauded.

Binarystar Infinity is a demanding but rewarding little shooter that fans of the genre will lap up. It’s not particularly innovative, outside of the minimalist aesthetic, and it could definitely have added more moves and weapons to its central spaceship, but it gets the important things right.

Souldiers is big, the bosses that you meet need serious planning, and there is a good challenge and learning curve.

That leaves me with wondering what is the point of Chime Sharp – especially when much of the game will be locked down and inaccessible to many. Well I’m not really sure to be honest, but then I’ve never really understood the point of Tetris either. If however you want a reasonably decent game that you can just sit down with, for ten minutes at a time, drawing off the positive, fast-flowing vibe it brings, then you’re in luck.

Accept the game for what it is – a grind to level up and improve your character and base – and there is fun to be had here. Come expecting a Metal Gear game though and you may be disappointed.

For the vast majority of our time with Hook: Complete Edition though, we’ve become slightly addicted. The minutes fast turning into hours, and whilst a little fatigue does creep in near the end, there’s no doubt that this does the job intended of it - to provide a humble, minimalistic puzzler full of content for a low price.

I have found Mars Power Industries Deluxe to be both compelling and interesting to play. There are moments where I found things a bit too simple and the gameplay fast gets too familiar, but then the game turns itself on its head and starts to push the boundaries of what it's trying to be. There is a lot of game here for the amazingly cheap price, and I love the way it creates a strange narrative through its bare minimal, wordless, visuals.

The standard of this second episode feels like a traditional Act Two. It’s not quite as good as the first, and is hopefully sitting here just to bridge the gap that is leading to an exciting final third.

Williams Pinball: Volume 2 for Pinball FX3 is more suited to the better players and a fair few aspects of the tables haven’t managed to stand the test of time. But you’ll certainly be able to appreciate the ability to get your hands on some absolute classics and in all, it provides a good addition to your table library.

Sign of the Sojourner really is worth picking up for the surrounding exploration and setting stuff - it’s that good - but you might want to zone out for the card-gaming.

It’s going to find love from the hardcore RPG fans, and so if you fall into that camp and didn’t try Outward previously, the Definitive Edition should be the way to go.

Yes, I Am Your Beast falters at times. There are moments of clunkyness, slight repetition, too-short campaign. But when it works, and more often than not, it absolutely does, it traps you in the most beautiful kind of loop.

We played BATS: Bloodsucker Anti-Terror Squad with a smile on our face. It’s bombastic and stupid, with a strong handle on the ‘80s arcade games it wants to emulate. It won’t win any awards - particularly with its bored, ‘I made this out of LEGO’ level design - but for a couple of hours it will get your pulses racing. Come get some.

Though it isn’t a perfect game by any means and can be incredibly frustrating at times, Bendy and the Ink Machine is a fun game that mixes horror elements with a cartoon environment that gives players some enjoyable yet scary moments along the way.

Samurai Aces is a perfectly decent Psikyo shooter. In quality terms, it sits happily at the midpoint of all the Psikyo re-releases, with an engaging theme and some cracking bosses. On the flipside, it has a limp story and a penchant for bullet-spamming.

If you’ve never played a Devil May Cry game, then you really have no excuse with its availability on the last three console generations. If you already have this collection, then there is nothing new in this version – it’s got the same great gameplay, just now with a squeaky clean 1080p and 60fps.

Escape Sequence should possibly keep you going for longer than it does, even when the asking price is relatively low. Instead it feels like £4.19 is a steep price tag for just fifteen levels of gameplay, and that’ll possibly end up putting a lot of people off. Even so, if you’re in the market for a new puzzle game, I’d recommend giving Escape Sequence a try.

If you are in the market for a super detailed, super hard strategy game, look no further. With a gripping cold war storyline up there with classic spy novels, Phantom Doctrine is a worthy game. If you’re not quite that hardcore, then possibly one of the faster paced games may be more to your liking.

If a short yet emotional narrative is all that you’re after – you’re looking at a maximum of two hours of gameplay here – then Lost At Sea should manage to satiate those needs, but maybe consider waiting for a sale because the price at launch is a little high for the content within.

Just Cause 4 feels every bit the game that Just Cause 3 did, yet it pales in comparison due to its lacklustre presentation, stilted design and derivative story. While Rico’s adventure is all about liberation, it fails to inspire and comes back down to earth with a bang.
