The perfect launch game, doing nothing new, arguably less so than current gen games but adequately showing off the new hardware - think of it as a tech demo with quick time event executions and you will not be disappointed.

Cute visually, but lacking the gameplay depth of its predecessor, Space Crew is a slow grind that offers glimpses at what could've been. A decent follow up to Bomber Crew, Runner Duck's latest game aims for the stars but just gets out of the atmosphere.

BOOR is a darkly beautiful game with plenty of interesting puzzles to keep you engaged, but the lack of narrative progression lets it down.

Gravel is entertains for the most part but outside the career mode the game lacks longevity. Coupled with some odd omissions such as leaderboards it's a competent racer and not much else.

Whilst lacking in the depth that some other management simulations offer, Pro Cycling Manager still does a good job of transferring the technical world of pro cycling into a competent if unremarkable game.

It makes it all the sadder that this remastering shows little love or respect for the original and fails to gather in the new audience it may deserve.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie Video Game is an enjoyable action-adventure romp, but ultimately it never quite reaches the standards set by some of the previous LEGO titles. The framerate issues are a constant nuisance, and other technical issues such as crashes and excessive loading screens make the game feel unfinished, as if rushed to launch alongside the film. Thankfully, fans of the LEGO Ninjago Movie will definitely enjoy playing through the story as their favourite ninjas, while LEGO enthusiasts will find enjoyment in the variety and depth of collectables on offer.

Jump Force isn't bad, it is instead mediocre. Instead of a huge celebration of Shonen Jump it instead feels like the kind of party nobody turned up to. It can be fun for a short while, but the lack of depth and strange cutscenes will quickly run that out.

For die hard motorsport fans, F1 2015 is certainly the champion. For everyone else, it's one race you'll struggle to finish.

It remains one of the most random launch titles of all time but is well worth a purchase if you are looking for something that isn’t a first person twitch fest.

On one hand it’s a wonderful conceptual take on rhythm action, blending in elements of RTS and score attack along with a thumping soundtrack. Its problem is that on the other hand it’s a flawed delivery, a game where the overriding artistic concept and desire to produce something different has resulted in a game that far too often isn’t actually fun to play.

Poor art direction and music stop The Sun and Moon from being a great puzzle game.

A step back for the series, but still an enjoyable couple of hours despite the flaws.

The game is great but it’s the same game it was a year ago, and has the same mechanics it had two years ago. The second game proper was due now and it has not arrived. This is filler. Quality filler, but filler nonetheless.

If you stick with it you'll find a decent racer here but getting past the inane narrative, broken progression systems and longing for racers past takes some doing.

With Beyond the scope is expanded awkwardly without really refreshing the mechanics to support it. The fantastical is brought back into the fray thanks to Cage being unleashed and whilst he drives the narrative with that seed it loses the plot because of it.

With a lot of patience and commitment, this game has a lot to offer but for less-seasoned mech sim gamers, the interface and embarrassing graphics alone may be enough to put you off.

Project Laika's low price point is just about low enough to justify a DLC package with such little impact on gameplay. If you're the sort to coo over digital animals then it's going to hit the spot, but it's not likely to justify it's cost to the rest.

Lego The Incredibles sticks to the tried and trusted Lego formula, adding a sprinkle of new features here and there. However, the same bugs and glitches which have dogged the Lego series persist and the game feels somewhat lacking in comparison to previous titles.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 is a much better game than Hyperdimension Neptunia, but it’s still let down by several failings and issues that probably throw up enough barriers for anyone outside of its niche to feel comfortable enough in staying away from it.

In addition, the games are over fifteen years old, and no amount of HD polish can hide the fact that they simply haven’t dated well, (particularly Night Warriors). Darkstalkers is in the unfortunate position of being less accessible than both Street Fighter II and IV, and outclassed by Third Strike.

Golem Gates is an RTS that tries to take a new approach with its card game deck-building mechanics, but they don’t go far enough in differentiating the game from all its similar rivals.

Far Cry New Dawn does everything you'd expect from a Far Cry title. However, it failed to deliver the same level of polish and enjoyment its predecessor enjoyed, and while it’s still packed with buckets of fun, I couldn't help shake the feeling that I’ve done all this before.

It’s genuinely fun once you hit that sweet spot and shows off the PS4’s potential in a big way, it’s just a shame that it plays it very very safe throughout.
