    When I first heard about the change of formula for this sequel I did question it. However, what we have is something that is familiar yet fresh. Exit the Gungeon streamlines a lot of the great gameplay from the first game into something very unique, rewarding and extremely fun. I love it.

    Sixty missions to conquer on five difficulty levels with two completely different characters adds up to potentially more than one hundred hours of game bundled in this portable package. But would you want to stick with it that long? With little in the way of plot, and repetitive foes and level design, this is a game that can hardly claim to have depth.

    Yooka Laylee is a great example of what can be achieved with the 3D platform. It is let down only by its lack of motivating narrative progression, and a tendency to get a little monotonous.

    If you have missed space-combat shooters, as they are a real rarity, then you could do a lot worse than SSZ: Director’s Cut. The truth is that the director’s cut hasn’t improved anything majorly from the first game, so if you have it on the PC then don’t expect some revelation here as you’ll be left wanting.

    GORN may not be the longest, most refined game in the world but it certainly has a place in everyone's PSVR collection. Its a place to unwind, a place to have fun and its bloody brilliant. With its wonky physics and bits of enemies flying everywhere it is a great laugh and fun throughout.

    My Hero One’s Justice 2 is, expectedly, a slightly better, more story-relevant take on 2018’s surprise hit. The additions aren’t enough to sway those who were unsure of the original, yet appreciated enough for those that did play the proceeding game. No doubt the extended roster is the breakout addition, sure, but outside of those already invested in the My Hero Academia-verse, there’s little to be excited about, bar a damn good, albeit wholly casual, stylish anime fighter. And, seriously, who can argue with that?

    Unspottable is everything you want from a couch party game. It's easy to pick up and play, and there is the potential for all sorts of shenanigans. Other party games might offer more variety and crucially, online modes, but Unspottable sticks to its core and is a whole lot of fun.

    I enjoyed Effie a lot, mainly because it reminded me of playing games in my youth. Exploring and completing little challenges is fun and rewarding. That's what games should be shouldn't they? Rewarding and fun. A few technical issues aside, if you are looking for an old-school platforming title with quite a bit of gameplay variation then look no further, Effie is a fun game to play.

    An odd beast, one which seems unsure whether it’s trying to be a genuine throwback, or ironically retro; the graphics and gameplay indicate the former, but its difficulty level and tone suggest the latter.

    Noire provides a different, perhaps more traditional leading lady to the game, and helps balance some of the randomness that the other characters demonstrate. It’s a fun enough ride, and franchise fans will lap it all up, but maybe it needed to go even further to demonstrate some wider appeal.

    Disappointing in the most devastating of ways; starting fantastically with gorgeous, well-written, superbly voiced cutscenes, all set in a really interesting time for modern America, sadly though by the time you’ve sunk tens of hours into it the only thing raising a smile is the soundtrack. At best Mafia III is very much a big missed opportunity.
