Vermintide is a triumphant co-op experience at its best, held back from greatness due to minor technical flaws.

Overall Don Bradman ‘17 is an improvement over its predecessor, especially visually. What’s holding it back, however, is the erratic AI fielding and uninspiring commentary. Still, it’s reassuring that despite being pretty much the only cricket game available, it hasn’t rested on its laurels.

A fantastic entry point for those who are unfamiliar with the series as well as being a great addition for long time fans. Torna ~ The Golden Country manages to be approachable and enjoyable for everyone. The new changes to combat really help make things more interesting and the world is huge. Definitely worth a play.

Eschewing the reams of statistics and options that can often burden similar games, Skulls of the Shogun focuses on combat and fun which means it is the ideal introduction to turn-based gaming and, making no bones about it, is something we can heartily recommend.

While just falling short of being towards the top of my favourite JRPG's, Bravely Default does a lot right. Its job systems and battle system are great fun and the sleep mode sailing game always gives you something fun to return to. The characters and voice acting, in parts, leave a bit to be desired and some of the environments are a bit fuzzy. On the whole you get a lot of game for your money, its an enjoyable, challenging experience and worth your time.

Faeria has always been an intriguing game, with the Fall of Everlife expansion and the move away from free-to-play it has truly become something worth taking note of. The unique mechanics at play here really help it stand apart from the competition. With the addition of brand new cards including an army of yaks, now is the perfect time to jump in.

When I first heard about the change of formula for this sequel I did question it. However, what we have is something that is familiar yet fresh. Exit the Gungeon streamlines a lot of the great gameplay from the first game into something very unique, rewarding and extremely fun. I love it.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is fun, with its many activities and a rewarding gameplay loop. There is nothing better than rocking up to a monastery with your raucous crew and robbing them blind.

Let's Sing 2019 is sure to keep fans of singing with friends happy. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it doesn't really need to. The jukebox function is a nice touch, as is the smartphone integration.

Tearaway is a game for anyone other than the douchiest dudebro, a game for anyone that is able to sit back and enjoy a game for the sheer fun of it. In many ways, it’s a game that Nintendo would be proud to have on any of their systems, and if that’s not a compliment I don’t know what is.

The definitive version of the Mario Maker concept, for better or worse. Super Mario Maker 2 delivers a charming, easy-to-use, but tool-heavy creative romp with near endless potential future content.

CONSORTIUM is a short adventure but with a lot of flexibility in how you can play it and with your choices and actions leading to very different stories. With fairly limited, and entirely optional combat, this is definitely a game for those looking for a good story rather than action.

All in all the Disney Afternoon Collection is a great deal; six great games for a very reasonable price, and three different game modes. The rewind feature is also great and solves a lot of problems that comes with old-school platforming games and instant death pits. They’re great fun and the best bit: you don’t even have to get up to change the cartridge if you want to switch games.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker on the Switch is certainly the definitive way to play. Boasting brilliant level design, puzzle creation and ingenuity. Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is easily one of the best titles on the Switch, and deserves a second chance to shine.

Neon Abyss is colourful, bright and a lot of fun. While I found a lot of the room layouts and levels a tad repetitive, there is enough there to keep you entertained. The mini-games and weapons are great. It looks good, sounds awesome and will find a home in any rogue-like fans gaming collection.

Skylanders Imaginators is a great step for the franchise, far from perfect and still quite the drain on the wallet but fresh enough to keep even the most fatigued Skylander player (or parent) coming back for more. The addition of the joyous loot grind along with (finally) the ability to create your own Skylander, coupled with a lengthy yet colourful and downright fun campaign, Skylanders Imaginators shows that this is one toys-to-life franchise that isn’t going anywhere.

DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods - Part One offers a meaty expansion that doesn’t dramatically differ from the base game, and despite a crushing difficulty and dodgy platforming sections, it's an essential purchase for those clamouring for their next DOOM fix.
