A love letter to the PS1-era JRPGs of old, Earthlock: Festival of Magic is perfectly at home on the Nintendo Switch, delivering a by-the-numbers but solid turn-based battler with an engaging underdog story.- Switch Player

Castle of Heart is a fun console exclusive platformer that harks back to classics such as Castlevania and Ghosts 'n Goblins. It's a tad bland and repetitive, but it's worth checking out if you fancy testing your patience with a sword in hand.- Switch Player

The Bunker is a genuinely scary insight into loneliness and isolation. The setting and cast of characters really help bring its unsettling story to life, but the minimal interaction may put off a few people. I do wonder if it would've been more successful as a movie.- Switch Player

Membrane is a physics-based psychedelic puzzle-plaformer that is great fun to play. Offering an interesting mechanic and gameplay that is challenging but never too tough, fans of the genre will be sure to enjoy this one!- Switch Player

Bleed 2 offers good, frantic twin-stick shooting fun, but it would have been nice to see a few more levels and a bit more depth to the game beyond the frequent boss battles. Taken with the first game, though, Bleed is a fun package.- Switch Player

Danmaku Unlimited 3 is a very strong entry into the ever-growing shmup genre on Nintendo Switch. It takes nerves to conquer the endless bullets on display, but casual gamers are also well catered for with a generous selection of difficulty options.- Switch Player

As a premise, the Men of Yoshiwara games are something we should see more of - novels and particularly decide-your-destiny type books would be more than welcome on Nintendo's system. There's not enough new here to justify a purchase if you already have the first game, though - go for one or the other unless you're a genre fanatic.- Switch Player

ESCAPE TRICK: 35 Fateful Enigmas has the premise of a fantastic game, but its execution is absolutely diabolical. It is frustrating, unrewarding, and ultimately not a lot of fun to play - especially as there are absolutely no options available to get help or skip the level you're on if you get stuck or can't work out the solution. Unless a hint feature is implemented, I wouldn't recommend this game to my worst enemy - unless they were as illogical in their thinking as this game is in its presentation.- Switch Player

Giving life to Mexican legends, Mulaka tells the unique journey of the titled shaman in the form as an action-adventure game. Despite its simple structure and loose combat, it still manages to awe thanks to its pleasant art style and superb soundtrack.- Switch Player

World Conqueror X offers a lot of content for its modest eShop price, and history fans will enjoy playing out a story which sticks as close to real-life as possible. It's not the most welcoming gameplay system, though, so novices may want to look elsewhere.- Switch Player

The Trail: Frontier Challenge wants to be a chilled out stroll through the country and to an extent it succeeds, unfortunately lacking game mechanics mean that things never amount to anything more than a walk in the woods.- Switch Player

Old Man’s Journey takes form as a simple and short point and click adventure, which doesn’t offer much variety when it comes to gameplay or puzzle design. Still, if a superb art style and poignant narrative is enough to keep you interested, then it’s definitely a worth acquisition.- Switch Player

It’s a puzzle platformer with the core mechanic being that you can’t jump. Through it’s unashamed cute demeanour there is a deep, challenging game that is sometimes frustrating yet overall satisfying and hugely enjoyable.- Switch Player

AOT 2 excels when you're running around and chasing down the titans. It's a shame to have to break that up with worrying about having to purchase and upgrade weapons - the game should feel more backs-to-the-wall, so the emphasis should have been more on the action.- Switch Player

Super One More Jump throws away many of the platformer genre staples to focus solely on the jump mechanic. As a result, it delivers an experience that takes a while to reach full potential, but eventually becomes surprisingly challenging and enjoyable.- Switch Player

Samurai Aces is a solid shmup that is sure to please fans of the genre. Personally, the game felt a bit too similar to previous title Gunbird - but then again, why fix what isn't broken? If you're after fast-paced, intense gameplay, look no further.- Switch Player

Aegis Defenders manages to avoid the boredom found on some tower defense games by mixing it up with action and platforming elements. Its complexity and depth of strategy doesn’t lose its light even with its somewhat convoluted controls. With its top-notch pixel art style and charming narrative, it delivers an entertaining and unique experience.- Switch Player

Detention is a perfect example of how the video games medium can be utilised to tell unfamiliar, but important, stories in a novel and impactful way. That by no means takes away from its credibility as a horror game and instead strengthens it.- Switch Player
