Pumped BMX Pro can be an enjoyable experience given its pick-up and play nature and instant restarts. But the difficulty of the challenge soon ramps up seemingly to stand in for a lack of other ideas.

The Hong Kong Massacre is a challenging game that can often leave you feeling frustrated. Action movie fans may find enjoyment, but issues such as a lacking story let it down overall, and it’s hard to recommend at the current price.

There’s truly so little fun to be found in House Flipper, where ugly graphics, awful controls and some tedious UI all combine to create something far too dull to recommend. You’re better off watching paint dry.

Mable and the Wood could have been a smoother, more intuitive experience, and it is only disappointing that it isn’t. The idea was a good one, but its execution leaves much to be desired.

Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise somehow manages to recapture all the magic of the beloved cult favourite. As long as you can handle jank, you should thoroughly enjoy your peculiar adventure through the Deep South.

Wanderjahr: Try Again or Walk Away is a bland strategy game that feels more like a mobile game, very little interaction and lack of variety in gameplay make it a passable experience.

TorqueL has a unique mechanic and the potential to be a fun little game. But the physics that makes it interesting is the same thing that makes it barely playable. Hardcore gamers might get some fun and challenge from this, but it really does feel more like a game suited to mobile than a fully fledged console game.

Monster Jam Steel Titans 2 is by and large a pretty bland experience. There’s not a lot of personality on show, and the handling of the vehicles leaves much to be desired. Some interesting open-world designs later on aren’t enough to justify a higher score here.

A shallow attempt at a management simulator that looks promising, but rewards your patience with an empty world, a lack of features that would make the game fun and a completely joyless cast of characters. Avoid!

As much as I wanted to enjoy Fin and the Ancient Mystery, I just couldn’t. Although its price point is pretty good, it’s hard to recommend it when there are so many other platformers on the Switch that offer much more enjoyment.

Super Destronaut DX is an arcade-ish indie title that recreates the classic Space Invaders experience in a competent-but-simplistic way. It isn’t necessarily a bad game, but it doesn’t offer enough new ideas to keep the player hooked.

RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures has a long history and it's a shame this Switch version doesn't really hold a candle to the original - it's let down by long loading times, a clunky coaster creation system and a painfully slow progression. Fans of the series will get a little enjoyment but you'll be much better off sticking to the 90's originals.

Bob Help Them is an easy to pick up and put down little strategy game that marries the relaxation of a farming-sim with the frantic pace of a countdown timer. 35 levels, 6 NPCs, and 105 stars, this game is perfect for bus rides.

Close to the Sun takes gorgeous environments and stellar world-building and mixes it with confusing storytelling and a technically bad port. Fans of the “walking simulator” genre will probably want to experience it, but everyone else should walk away.

It's Othello, a board game and it can provide a little competitive multiplayer for you and your friends. It's certainly cheap, but I seriously doubt it's something you thought you'd want to buy a Switch for.

Solo: Islands of the Heart is a pleasant game with some interesting puzzle box action, but its core premise, built around relationships, is disappointingly underwhelming, and disconnected from the gameplay surrounding it.

If procedural generated dungeons filled with monsters is enough to satiate your desire for a new roguelike, then Bit Dungeon Plus may be a good choice. However, it doesn’t do much to differ from the most bland and standard roguelike experience.

Reviewing Suicide Guy was a complex one - it was a battle between the great ideas for the chains of events to complete the level, against the clunky and obtuse handling and controls. For that, it gets a score right down the middle.

I'd recommend Monsters Overboard if you're a fan of Hotel Transylvania, and therefore the devs have done their job with the movie tie-in. It's no-where near as good as Pikmin, but the characters are here, the voice acting is done well, and the gameplay genuinely fits the theme and is pleasant enough to hold me over until Olimar's return.

Shadow Fight 2 offers its players a variety of characters and stages to choose from, but an abysmal gameplay experience overall. With poor hit detection, a flawed combat system and a highly-frustrating, grind-heavy campaign, it has limited appeal beyond its mobile origins. My advice? Stick to other fighting games.

Dead End Job offers a good amount of fun, but the controls, and namely the difficulty in locking onto the required target, diminish the enjoyment somewhat. The humour and personality, however, make this a game that’s definitely worth checking out.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf offers decent strategy gameplay for those fans looking for something as similar to XCOM as possible. However, lacking tutorials, weak story, and watered-down mechanics make Space Wolf feel like XCOM-lite with cards.

Galaxy Warfighter has a really cool level-up screen, but beyond that, it’s a pretty standard space shooting affair. It goes on for a hundred levels, but they all feel the same, save for the choice of four end-of-level bosses.

While a flat tyre performance and empty tank when it comes to DLC make it difficult to recommend over the already released PlayStation and Xbox versions, MX vs ATV All Out is a competent Switch port, with plenty of customisation options and gameplay variation.

Bake ‘n’ Switch is a fun game that is slightly flawed by its repetitiveness and online issues. As amusing as it is though, I fail to see why I would purchase this over the likes of Overcooked and Overcooked 2, which have cheaper price points.

Overall, Nadir: A Grimdark Deck Builder is a fun title that offers a different spin on the deck-building rogue-like genre. Sadly though, there are so many other alternatives that offer much more in-depth and fleshed-out gameplay that it’s hard to recommend this one.

Gerrrms is a pretty unique party game based upon swinging around points on the battlefield to change direction. Despite numerous game modes, everything feels rather similar, though. It’s not a long-term success.

Bitlogic‘s labyrinthian stages have a sleek cyberpunk finish with some catchy chiptune tracks, but the presentational facelift doesn’t do much to alter the basic MSX gameplay, which can get monotonous fast. It’s not bad as an MSX throwback, but there are much better games out there on the eShop.
