There’s something oddly hypnotic and soothing about letting your muscle memory take over as you play one of the most elementary of video game genres, and Galaxy Warfighter seems to understand this quite well. It doesn’t present new obstacles or unique events with each new mission. Instead, it’s just dozens of similar stages that get slightly harder each time you advance, but if you fail you can just spend your coins to make your ship more capable or more durable. Don’t get me wrong; this isn’t the next great shoot-’em-up, but it’s competent and playable and accessible. Galaxy Warfighter would be a great game to introduce a new player to the genre, but it’s just as good at being a background activity. Even though seasoned pilots should probably steer clear, there’s room in the galaxy for new or laid back cadets to take this one for a spin.

If you want to enjoy a laidback shoot 'em up without all the stress usually involved in the genre then you'll surely have some fun here.

A paint by numbers entry into what’s becoming an inflated genre but the gameplay can still be fun despite feeling repetitive, especially late on.

In its early moments Galaxy Warfighter seems like it is on to something special. The combat mechanics are tight and the difficulty is high but fair. Even the early boss battles are fun and change up gameplay in interesting ways. Sadly, players will quickly come to realize that they will be doing the same things over and over again in this repetitive space shooter. Difficulty as well drops off considerably and it becomes easy to just breeze through levels. Despite its good moments, Galaxy Warfighter mostly just repeats itself for 100 levels.

Galaxy Warfighter has a really cool level-up screen, but beyond that, it’s a pretty standard space shooting affair. It goes on for a hundred levels, but they all feel the same, save for the choice of four end-of-level bosses.

Galaxy Warfighter is so poor in content, that feels like you play the exact same stage for a hundred times.

Galaxy Warfighter was good for about an hour of play, but to just got too repetitive after that. I kept going through mission after mission hoping for a new boss or an enemy that would keep things fresh, but that hope faded as I kept flying the same missions for what felt like endless waves.
