A love letter to the PS1-era JRPGs of old, Earthlock: Festival of Magic is perfectly at home on the Nintendo Switch, delivering a by-the-numbers but solid turn-based battler with an engaging underdog story.- Switch Player

The Eternal Castle [Remastered] creates interactive art with this arcade-style platformer, but its old-school nature comes with both charm and flaws. While it is a one-of-a-kind experience with a co-op option, those seeking robust gameplay options should look elsewhere.- Switch Player

Giving life to Mexican legends, Mulaka tells the unique journey of the titled shaman in the form as an action-adventure game. Despite its simple structure and loose combat, it still manages to awe thanks to its pleasant art style and superb soundtrack.- Switch Player

Heart of the Forest is the perfect novel with which to settle down with your Nintendo Switch and cosy up on a folklore adventure. It may be steeply set in its tabletop origins, but all these elements work brilliantly in the experimental format.- Switch Player

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl are good remakes of good games. The changes implemented are small yet effective, however, there’s a lingering sense throughout the experience that this all could have been so much more.- Switch Player

Nintendo has delivered a sports game far too light on content with Battle League, missing an opportunity for a memorable series revival. Thankfully, the top-tier animations and chaotic gameplay make for a great time regardless.- Switch Player

Yono and the Celestial Elephants is more than just a Zelda clone. It offers a steady stream of puzzles that gradually increase in complexity providing you with a satisfying challenge. The comforting art style adds to the experience, especially to the characterisation of the different inhabitants that feature in the world. Then there is the endearing and thought-provoking story that helps to give the game its unique charm.- Switch Player

Garden Story is such a wholesome game and the more time you put into it, the more you will get out. Its adorable cast of characters and varied gameplay makes for a great ‘relaxation’ game, if that’s what you’re looking for.- Switch Player

Gross, weird, and consistently hilarious, Sludge Life is a satirical lens on very particular types of youth culture, but it’s also an experience I won’t forget anytime soon. Plus, it’s almost worth the price for the soundtrack alone.- Switch Player

With an extremely well-polished repertoire of challenges and a stellar asynchronous multiplayer component, Brain vs. Brain makes for quite the return on Nintendo Switch to the Big Brain Academy, and at an enticing price point.- Switch Player

Although it boasts a gorgeous world, a surreal story, and some unique character designs, Dandara: Trials of Fear Edition ultimately fails to capture the freedom, urgency, and sense of exploration offered by other Metroidvania titles.- Switch Player

Picross S2 perfectly encapsulates the alluring one more go feeling that so many like-minded puzzle games aspire for, and does so with such masterful implementation. Jupiter show they are still the master of their craft, as they have always been in their 25 years of releasing Picross titles across Nintendo's hardware.- Switch Player

Trine doesn’t feel dated despite the near decade that has passed since its original release, though there are still things that need ironing out. With more Trine to come on Switch, hopefully the newer titles provide rectification.- Switch Player

Despite creating a unique horror ambience thanks to an outstanding hand-drawn presentation, Yomawari: The Long Night Collection creates a ‘hide-and-seek’ gameplay loop in which the tension goes away due to the cheap jump scares and unfair repetition.- Switch Player

Once you get past the dated graphics, slow RPG gameplay, and wonky (but improved) PC-to-console controls, you will find one of the better stories available to you in gaming in each of these titles. A worthy place for fans of the original releases to return, as well as for those paper-and-pencil gaming aficionados.- Switch Player

Worm Jazz doesn’t aim for the top of the food chain, but it’s well-designed for its primary task, and it layers some interesting notes together, with an occasional groovy flourish to tickle your grey matter.- Switch Player

If there was more competition in the field, Football Manager Touch on the Nintendo Switch could well have been in trouble. As it stands, Sports Interactive has the monopoly and, unfortunately for us Switch Players, it shows.- Switch Player

With its imaginative premise and simple gameplay design, Headland is an enjoyable title for all. Some performance flaws aside, this is a brilliant example of how to bring a game from mobile to Switch, for an arguably improved experience.- Switch Player

Soundfall might sound pretty great on paper, but the execution could have been better. It’s missing the creativity that could have elevated it to greater heights. What we’re left with is a promising shooter that falls into repetition disappointingly often.- Switch Player

Vesper: Zero Light Edition combines stealth platforming with light/dark puzzles in a visually arresting landscape. There’s a lot to like (light?) here, but the core gameplay isn’t quite as compelling as the beautiful presentation. Nevertheless, Vesper is worth investigating.- Switch Player

Zarvot, much like the cube you play as, has some rough edges at times, but is a really charming little game chock full of content. A surprisingly touching single player story with satisfying gameplay and great local multiplayer make this Switch exclusive title worth looking into.- Switch Player

Gunbird is a faithful port of a solid 90s shoot-em-up. Its fantastic range of difficulty levels means that most gamers will be suitably catered for, but there are undoubtedly stronger examples of the genre currently available on Switch.- Switch Player

Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered makes it just as addictive to cause destruction as it originally did 10 years ago. While few downgrades have been made to get it on Switch, it’s a solid addition to the console’s library of third-persona action games.- Switch Player
