Wenjia is a visually stunning title with a unique realm-shifting mechanic. The contrast between the two realms is hauntingly beautiful, but the story behind this world will ultimately go down as a missed opportunity for more.

Runbow is a frantic platformer with a twist. With tons of funny multiplayer modes, it is a very funny party-like experience, even though its single player counterpart is a little pale in comparison.

My Hero One’s Justice is an incredibly feature-rich tie-in to the popular My Hero Academia manga series. Its take on the anime 3D arena fighter is adorned with explosive battles, though is blemished with technical issues.

Road Redemption isn't pretty, but it is fun. You'll likely have some good fun with this Mad Max-a-like, especially with a friend in tow.

Soul Searching is short, sharp and symbolic. It amalgamates excellent audio with engaging scenery to provide the perfect backdrop for an exploratory, non-combative adventure, leaving some reflecting on life long after the credits roll, and others failing to see what it was all for.

Not only is Etherborn a solid puzzle-platformer, it’s also a work of art. The inclusion of a challenge mode counteracts the relatively short length, so there’s replay value, too.

Freshly Frosted looks the part, and packs in plenty of addictive and varied puzzles. It’s a shame that some of the details are less refined, but puzzle fans should find this an enjoyable and satisfying challenge.

Old Man’s Journey takes form as a simple and short point and click adventure, which doesn’t offer much variety when it comes to gameplay or puzzle design. Still, if a superb art style and poignant narrative is enough to keep you interested, then it’s definitely a worth acquisition.

Retro-inspired arcade rhythm games with glorious chiptune music.

If WRC 8 had been better optimised for the Nintendo Switch, the game would have received a higher score. That being said, it is a thoroughly enjoyable rally experience that any racing fan should purchase.

Worbital is a bizarre blend of real-time strategy and Worms, in space. Sadly falls flat in presentation and variety, but is a blast to blast through in an afternoon. Just be warned; it’ll make your head spin!

Colt Canyon offers an interesting take on the western genre which works extremely well as a roguelike adventure. Pixel art, twin-stick shooting, and a well-crafted soundtrack combine effortlessly, it’s just a shame that it is as challenging as it is.

R-Type Final 2 is a bombastic if relatively safe continuation of the horizontal side-scrolling shoot-em-up. It has visual flair in spades and packs in plenty of customisation options, both of which make blasting away endless enemy waves fun.

Yoshi is back with a pleasant and relaxing adventure. It tends to stay on the easy side, and co-op can be a frustrating endeavour, but for the most part Crafted World is a joy, and just plain fun.

Overall, King’s Bounty II was an enjoyable experience with some unique gameplay elements. It’s slightly let down by its frame rate and graphical issues and I can’t really justify it at its current price point, but if it goes on sale it’s definitely one to pick up.

Another Pong-esque paddle-based game style.

Combining resource-management and strategy gameplay in a procedurally-generated universe, Out There: Ω The Alliance provides hours of entertainment. It’s not a hardcore experience, but a great choice if you’re looking for something new.

This is a card game aimed at Dragon Ball diehards, with enough depth, creativity and fan service to keep the fans entertained. It does suffer visually, and those not into the series may want to give this one a miss.

BIT.TRIP FATE is a twin-stick rail shooter that is somewhat bullet hell-esque as well.

Final Fantasy VII is a game that everyone should experience. It’s a pioneering JRPG that remains to this day one of the most influential titles of all time. That said, if you’re entering Midgar for the first time, just keep in mind that time has not been kind this game.

Alwa’s Awakening takes inspiration from Metroidvanias of the past, and while it doesn’t do much new, it does offer a satisfactory challenge.

Bear With Me: The Lost Robots manages to avoid many of the pitfalls of the point-and-click genre. A few flaws take some of the shine off, but if you’re a fan of the genre you’ll likely enjoy this one regardless.

Giving life to Mexican legends, Mulaka tells the unique journey of the titled shaman in the form as an action-adventure game. Despite its simple structure and loose combat, it still manages to awe thanks to its pleasant art style and superb soundtrack.

Mom Hid My Game! Is a weird and wonderful puzzle game that, whilst short in length, is a joy to play. Much like other touch based games on the platform, it is already accessible (and free) on mobile, but the Switch-centric polish makes it feel feature complete in your library. If the abstract art style draws you in, It's definitely worth a spin.

Terror Squid has all the pros of a classic arcade game. Mechanically simple but surprisingly difficult gameplay, with a beautiful pick-up-and-play methodology baked in. Unfortunately however, it is a shallow experience if you are not interested in chasing high scores.

Bleed 2 offers good, frantic twin-stick shooting fun, but it would have been nice to see a few more levels and a bit more depth to the game beyond the frequent boss battles. Taken with the first game, though, Bleed is a fun package.

It's the middle part of a story and at times it certainly feels middling. More polished that the first title yet nowhere near as enthralling or captivating, it feels like it was dragging the story along at times. Fans of the first title will still find plenty to enjoy, and I hope that the final part sees some of the choices pay off.

It would be hard to make a bad chess game, but it's not easy to make a beautiful one and that's what Ripstone have achieved with Ultra Chess.
