  1. While it can be too elliptical for its own good, Shirley is a frequently spellbinding blend of fiction and memoir anchored by a mesmerizing Moss.
  2. Costner and company know the importance of visual and sonic storytelling. In this film, the score, landscapes, and set pieces guide the stories along when the dialogue is limited, helping us to connect to the overall experience emotionally.
  3. Palm Trees and Power Lines is eerie, provocative, and thought-provoking.
  4. The film is a genuine pleasure to watch, especially for fans of either or both of the leading actors.

    Ultimately, Dead Man’s Wire succeeds as a comedy but often falters in its deeper social commentary. Though it lacks the critical bite that could make it one of Van Sant’s best, it sits comfortably among his most entertaining.

    It All Came True isn't a typical gangster movie. It's a lighthearted musical comedy that happens to feature a couple of sinister details, like the fact that Humphrey Bogart's character, Chips Maguire, is trying to keep a low profile after committing a murder.

    Though various endings may differ in effective execution or feeling deserved by the closing credits of the two-hour film, some of which among the Shelby clan are guaranteed to be divisive, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man is still an entertaining, action-filled, worthwhile return to the story for those who have been missing a recitation of “in the bleak midwinter” over the past several years.
