Liege Dragon is an okay RPG with all the right elements but bland gameplay.- Pure Nintendo

If you’re new to KEMCO games or JPRGs in general, Sephirothic Stories serves as a light, quick (the game can be finished in around 10 hours), simple introduction to the genre. Unless you’re looking for a deep challenge or a modern presentation, there’s nothing really wrong here. However, there’s also not much new or terribly interesting, making Sephirothic Stories a game that’s okay to miss.- Pure Nintendo

SHINRAI – Broken Beyond Despair has an interesting enough narrative. But poor quality visuals and lack of variety make for a hard story to become fully invested in. There seems to be too much text and waffle, and I get the feeling that quantity was preferred over quality in the story. On the whole, the game feels rushed and unpolished.- Pure Nintendo

Whipseey and the Lost Atlas looks great and I liked the retro inspired music, but it’s a short game. It also lacks exciting features and objectives to keep the player interested. Would be a good game for younger kids though.- Pure Nintendo

Land of Screens has an interesting storyline, but there’s no depth to it or its characters. The music is fun and it’ll keep you busy for about an hour but that’s about it.- Pure Nintendo

I appreciate the unique control scheme, which made Hoplegs stand out in its promotional videos and material. But overall, it was a frustrating experience, even though I progressed quicker when the controls started feeling more natural and gained more momentum. The repetitive level design, visuals and music become tedious, leaving Hoplegs (sigh) no real leg to stand on.- Pure Nintendo

I appreciate that Times and Galaxy is a very different vision of what a game can attempt to do. It reminds me of the games I used to play on the Apple ][ in my school library, where the idea was to teach lateral thinking. But while I enjoy the weird idea, a new mechanic, time-wasting NPCs, and game-ending bugs simply make for a bad front page.- Pure Nintendo

The Legend of Gwen presents a fun world with a lot of potential, but there are too many issues with controls and difficulty of the game itself.- Pure Nintendo

In the end, this port turned out to be an average experience for me in most ways. I’d suggest checking out the free version first (on mobile with half the levels). Subsequently, you can decide if adding Mekorama to your Switch digital library is the right call.- Pure Nintendo

On arrival, I had a sense of hope and promise for the twin-stick shooter, Aniquilation, but was left with an “oh well” experience. With a little refinement, it has the potential to be a really fun game with some interesting aspects. As it is, the game leaves too much to be desired.- Pure Nintendo

Spirit Valor offers a decent retro-RPG combat system, but the story and exploration elements provide little incentive to keep adventuring between battles. I’ve played and continue to expect better from KEMCO.- Pure Nintendo

Panorama Cotton changes up the series’ cute-em-up experience by switching to a 3D action arcade style, but it introduces some problems along the way. The trippy enemies and color palette provide some quick fun, but they quickly wear out and allow performance issues to dampen the experience. Unless you’re a fan of the series, this isn’t a game you’re likely to finish.- Pure Nintendo

Slayin 2 has some UI issues, and its gameplay doesn’t stand out for me. However, if you’re looking for a game to just play while passing time, you could certainly play worse.- Pure Nintendo

On the one hand, I can say Westone’s arcade “treasure” was worth the wait when viewed as a piece of gaming history. But, as an ININ Games published release in 2021, not as much. Once the warm fuzzies wear off, you’re left with a short game with little replay incentive due to a lack of online leaderboards. Combined with a lack of both standard and extra features, I’d wait for this $19.99 release to get a sizable discount unless you’re an arcade fanatic who has someone readily available for two-player co-op.- Pure Nintendo

While AWAY: Journey to the Unexpected features some great 2D character models and animations, the gameplay simply didn’t provide a fun experience. Close-up first-person combat and first-person platforming has never been easy in games and AWAY doesn’t take any meaningful step forward in solving those issues.- Pure Nintendo

Monster Truck Championship isn’t the worst or the best racing game I’ve ever played. The frame rate and visuals are good, and the overall presentation and setup are fine. Regardless, whether you are a fan of monster trucks or racing games in general, I would say that it isn’t worth the price of $39.99. I can’t see myself going back to it since the controls are dicey and that the game itself is average and forgettable.- Pure Nintendo

TAURONOS it’s just a game that I could not get into. The puzzles seemed dull and very uncomplex. It felt more like a game that I had played on a mobile device years ago, not a game releasing on a console. Whether I am taking my Switch on the go or playing in my living room, there are many other games I’d rather play.- Pure Nintendo

Electro Ride: The Neon Racing suffers from touchy controls and an overall lack of depth. It’s not amongst the best racing options available for the Switch, but it does contain a couple of unique elements that may appeal to gamers looking for something a little different.- Pure Nintendo

Steampunk Tower 2 is a tower defense game that’s more grinding and flat rather than filled with strategic gameplay with an engaging story. It looks pretty and controls nicely, but there isn’t much to do.- Pure Nintendo

A solid foundation is in Animal Fight Club, but it’s a real grind to pick up momentum. The limited animation and inconsistent challenge do no favors either. With missing multiplayer, I’m not sure how many will hang around for the DLC. The game is inexpensive and has some positives, but more work is needed.- Pure Nintendo

So, what we’ve got in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a well-designed game that’s poorly developed. A championship-caliber team that needs another few months (or perhaps another year) of training camp. 505 Games has promised to fix the glaring problems, but I can’t review a game based on promises. There’s still some fun to be had here, but it shouldn’t have been released in its current state. Wait for the updates. If they don’t come, wait for a sale…and stay away from the bookshelves.- Pure Nintendo

I wanted to like Dead Dragons when I read the specs and the premise, and the game does do what it claims. But this retro RPG from KEMCO needs some improvements before I can give it an endorsement.- Pure Nintendo

Ladders by POWGI certainly isn’t bad for a few minutes at a time, especially if you have a second player to bounce word suggestions off of. Still, I didn’t find it addictive enough to carry a standalone release.- Pure Nintendo

Montezuma’s Revenge – The 40th Anniversary Edition is not a pleasant experience. That may be the point, judging from the title. But, save for one key decision, the updates here somehow make this version seem even more dated than the 1984 original.- Pure Nintendo

Zombie Rollerz: Pinball Heroes is much more fun than I ever thought it would be; however, it doesn’t do enough to hold my attention any more than a handful of battles and doesn’t do enough with those battles to make me want to come back. Couple this with the random generation that only hinders your progression, and you have a frustrating game that is only working against you.- Pure Nintendo

Remnant: From The Ashes is a unique take on the Souls-like genre, blending 3rd-person shooting gameplay with the challenging combat of a Dark Souls game. It surprisingly works and offers something new to the endless Souls-like games that are out there. The issue with Remnant: From The Ashes is that if you don’t like Souls-like games, this isn’t the game to change your mind. Plus, the Switch port is rough to look at and harder to play due to technical issues. If you absolutely want a unique Souls-like experience and only own a Switch, Remnant: From The Ashes could be worth checking out.- Pure Nintendo
