Splatter – Zombiecalypse Now is a wild, over-the-top, trigger-happy shooter where your ZR button will be worn out if you stick with it for more than a few levels – and well done if you do! Don’t get me wrong, the visuals are gory and chaotic, but they clash with the dark, gritty setting and zoomed out top-down view, resulting in a pretty messy and ‘gets old pretty quickly’ experience.

Despite many positive elements that Dodo Peak has to make it satisfying, I must admit that I genuinely didn’t have much fun playing it. It’s challenging, but not in a way that held my interest beyond a few minutes at a time. Further, the familiar three-star setup is weakened by an emphasis on speed and random enemy placement. This Dodo might not take flight on the Nintendo Switch.

If you want to be able to play a fully-licensed snooker game, anywhere and at any time on your Nintendo Switch then this would be a suitable option, albeit a boring one. If you aren’t in need of portable snooker-gameplay, then you are probably better off going to your local bowling alley and/or sports bar.

Reed 2 is a simple platformer with cheap ways to die and similar mechanics from the first game. For a short game of 52 small levels, it can take a while.

"Ultimate” in terms of content and options but not in enjoyment, Ultimate Racing 2D 2 makes a poor first impression and fails to recover. If it looks interesting to you, I’d suggest its predecessor for half the price. This game has more to it, but it’s a case where less would’ve been more. I hope the devs take a prolonged pitstop before the third entry.

Excalibur Games has serious work ahead if they want to make Tracks – Toybox Edition a good game for the Nintendo Switch, especially if targeting whole families. Having a proper tutorial, improved UI, and touch screen support are some of the fundamentals they should revisit.

Sadly lacking all the options seen in previous entries, Stay Cool Kobayashi-san! may entertain longtime Kunio-kun fans but others will find it bare bones and forgettable.

35MM is a messy blend of multiple genres lacking any clear definition or direction. The tense atmosphere that it builds isn’t enough to keep you invested and definitely needs more depth in its gameplay, story, and performance. This is a real shame, as there is clear potential for this to be far better than what we have received.

Rough Justice ‘84 has a great concept and ’80s setting. Unfortunately, it’s executed poorly on the Switch. Despite the cool soundtrack, there are other audio issues. The idea of solving cases might be a fun concept, but this is hard to recommend. The poor controls and user interface make this one to avoid.

Ramp Car Jumping is a physics-based puzzler that lacks creativity and longevity. It provides a couple hours of silly fun for one or two players on the Nintendo Switch, but it never feels like more than a free-to-play mobile title.

Overall, Enchanted Portals has the potential to be a wonderful game. Unfortunately, it missed the mark with clunky controls, slow loading times, and dull gameplay.

The Suicide of Rachel Foster is well constructed when it comes to design and mechanics, but is let down if you stop to examine the plot for a moment. The deeper into the game you get, the more it feels like it’s trying to shock rather than effectively engage with serious topics.

Despite great ideas at its foundation, Roller Drama has limited sports management features, minigames that drag and a mysterious dystopian setting that gets glossed over all too often.

Adventures of Chris is a platformer with smooth controls but unforgiving gameplay that will leave you more frustrated than having fun.

Yet Another Zombie Defense HD is a substandard game that has similar game modes and rough graphics. The only redeeming quality of this game is the interesting defense mode, which adds some strategy to shooting mindless zombies.

Given my fondness for hidden object adventures, I found a smidge of entertainment with The Last Days’ story elements. It’s a bit of a bush-league release overall, though, and the port has some evident issues. So, unless it gets a patch, I struggle to recommend to all but big genre enthusiasts.

Forgotten Hill Disillusion loses itself trying to be a challenging click-and-point puzzle game. While some of the puzzles are well-designed, the ones that don’t provide enough context outweigh the better riddles and thus make for a frustrating experience. The game does offer a help option, but often it feels like you have to rely on the help all too often to figure out the solution.

Road Builder had the potential to be a great game. However, the main mode was broken, and there wasn’t much else to do with a limited custom mode and lack of online play.

I can’t say Incredible Mandy is a bad game per se, but it is underwhelming and less than the sum of its parts. On sale, this might be an okay title for those who can embrace its mechanics and pacing. But I didn’t enjoy most of its puzzles, and puzzles are its main offering.

I give kudos to Ryan. He’s a cute kid, a millionaire before he’s reached double digits, and I wish him the best. But while this title might work as fan service, as a game it’s just poor. With only six tracks and numerous other problems, why spend $39.99 when Team Sonic Racing is the same price (or less) on Nintendo Switch? Kids deserve higher-quality than what’s presented here.

Zero Zero Zero Zero doesn’t have what it takes to compete with its competition. If you like precise platformers, I’d wholeheartedly recommend VVVVVV instead, if you don’t already own it.

Limited characters is an issue, but not the only one. The Language of Love has no choices, and thus no replay value. It’s passive, except to hit a button or tap the touch screen to advance the story; this might work were the plot aces, but that’s not the case. So, this one fares poorly compared to other VNs on the Switch.

Even though it’s markedly short, FoxyLand quickly grows repetitive. Basic equals dull in this case. Even at $3.99 (on sale) it feels overpriced compared to comparable experiences on the Nintendo Switch. With nothing to make it stand out from other budget platformers, you can pass on this below-average game without much worry.

Can I give Bounty Battle a slight recommendation for character diversity alone? No, I can’t. There are excessive issues through and through, including (but certainly not limited to) lack of fluency, gameplay variety, and depth.

With a serious lack of unique content and not much gameplay variety, Petoons Party feels like a primitive offering. It’s too limited, in real need of further attention to detail and polish. It might be family-friendly but it’s not wallet-friendly at $19.99, a price that’s very disproportionate to both the amount and the quality of its offerings.

While I very much appreciate the efforts game developers put in to entertain (and maybe educate) us, Ultimate Games’ Castle Renovator falls flat in early every way. If one of the selling points is that you can “Choose the shapes and designs of flags and pennants,” you know you’re in trouble.

The premise of switching between three characters with unique skills is cool in theory. Sadly, it didn’t work well because of the controls. Arcadia: Colony certainly has potential, but it needs a serious tune-up.

Undead’s Building is a game built around using an elevator to save people from zombies in different buildings and garages. While there are only seven levels to play, this title still manages to overstay its welcome because of boring gameplay and generic character design.

All in all, Senran Kagura Peach Ball feels less like a game than a poorly-crafted joke about anime, porn, and video games.
