A competent action slash-fest, loaded with tons of great enemy and character design, impressive animations, and an accessible, moderately rewarding combat system. But the backdrops are just too bland and uninspired, the repetitive nature of the gameplay gets tiresome, and that accessibility borders on tedious simplicity.- PSX Extreme

The controls aren’t tight enough – especially in regards to the vehicles – the camera is rarely on-point, the music isn’t prominent enough, the AI is iffy, and the overall fun factor dips frequently. On the other hand, there are plenty of pluses and I don’t like to frown on good ideas, even if they didn’t quite execute said ideas to the best of their ability.- PSX Extreme

It seems somewhat disjointed in that it lacks focus; in short, it tries to be something it’s not far too often. The modern-day theme simply doesn’t work, the story is muddy and hardly involving, and the stealth segments were just a mistake.- PSX Extreme

Let's assume that you're still interested in Robotech: Invasion even after hearing about how lifeless the Invid are, how weak the Cyclone concept is, and how the game doesn't try to mimic too closely the sights and sound of the cartoon it's based on. At $20 MSRP, it's worth the "risk" so long as you remotely care about Robotech and are curious to find out how the whole thing ends.- PSX Extreme

While the control is pretty solid, and the speed and action is actually very good, there is one significant flaw that permeates the entire experience: the response to your button presses is often erratic and rarely predictable or reliable.- PSX Extreme

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II is up against all new competition in 2010 and although some of the new stuff is cool, it just doesn't take the necessary steps. Sorry, SW fans.- PSX Extreme

It might be worth a play if only just to try something a little different in a world that is getting pretty watered down with rogue-like games.- PSX Extreme

For the time being, there are simply too many problems with Ultra Street Fighter IV on PlayStation 4. The input lag is definitely an issue, the technical hang-ups mar an otherwise astounding-looking game, and there aren’t enough new features or additions for hardcore fans to warrant a purchase.- PSX Extreme

Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters was one of the better PSP releases of 2007, but over a year later, it just doesn't translate all that well to the PS2.- PSX Extreme

It offers plenty of foes to strike down with a wide variety of cool attacks, lots of classic characters, and enough ally and party micromanagement to maintain some sense of role-playing and strategy. But the story falls flat, the pacing is off, and above all else, the combat mechanic is inherently flawed.- PSX Extreme

Amplitude is a bit of a disappointment. It plays well enough and it’s awfully slick-looking, but the lack of a diverse array of songs really puts a damper on the experience.- PSX Extreme

An okay effort, but it's hampered by average technicals, insane repetitiveness, outrageously frustrating preparation, and only fleeting moments of fun.- PSX Extreme

Doesn't do much in terms of story, little of what you learn or obtain in terms of skills and tools seems necessary, and the combat is seriously flawed. But beneath that beats the heart of a competent stealth adventure, which is difficult to find these days.- PSX Extreme

Coma: Recut has some good things going for it. It has great atmosphere and a great artstyle and sound design. It even starts out as a pretty decent horror game but unfortunately that only last so long. There isn’t enough variety to keep it fresh and challenging.- PSX Extreme

It’s simply too frustrating to lose a match because of imprecise controls and a lousy putting system.- PSX Extreme

It just isn't as refined as it could've been and even kids will easily notice the problems, which is why the game falls short of the goal. Even so, it's a darn sight better than the Backyard options and next year's installment might end up being…you know, good.- PSX Extreme

Black Mirror has a lot of potential to be a good game with the story. There’s an interesting mystery to uncover that is compelling even if it isn’t real new. That potential is pulled short however by a lot of technical issues that can take away immersion and in some cases, ruin the game entirely.- PSX Extreme

Without question, Ninja Gaiden 4 has amazing combat. Yakamo journey will send you head first like a blood-soaked death tornado. Those seeking old school gory action will love it, and its challenge will satisfy long time fans of the series. If you can turn your brain off and enjoy its forgettable story, there is a fun game here. But its lacking in depth for those looking for the next great ninja revenge tale.- PSX Extreme

There is a potentially interesting game here, but more often than not, its gimmicks lose their appeal and then you’re just left with a sub-standard and less enjoyable "Burnout."- PSX Extreme

An entertaining adventure, but it is not a game for non-Potter fans. The visuals, music and voice acting are beautifully done, but the same can’t be said for the storyline, and controls.- PSX Extreme

Call it my unyielding love for the franchise, but Sega needs to amp up their game if they want to earn my respect back. Sorry Sega, but a few new animated cutscenes I can watch on YouTube for free and a bunch of hackneyed ports of games I’ve purchased dozens of times aren’t enough to justify the price tag. Going back to the song “It Doesn’t Matter,” maybe someone should let Sega know that pride comes before the fall.- PSX Extreme

But with a slew of little problems, a bunch of repetition, a campaign that isn't anything like a campaign (let's face it; this is a multiplayer game only), and lacking environmental variety, it's tough to recommend. There are other games out there.- PSX Extreme

You'll probably want to pass on the PSP game if you've already had your fill of it on the PS2, since the content is mostly identical, but newcomers are encouraged to give it a try.- PSX Extreme

If you were a fan of the movie and want to re-live the experience, this isn’t a bad way to do it, but if you’re looking for a game that expands upon the movie, or one that stands on its own, it doesn’t get the job done.- PSX Extreme

If you’re a newcomer to Resident Evil, this is not the place to start. Go with this year’s Resident Evil 7 if you’re looking for something innovative, modern and terrifying. If pure action is what you’re after, the remastered editions of Resident Evil 4 and 5 are much easier recommendations.- PSX Extreme

The DOOM 3 BFG Edition still boasts some decent thrills here and there, it controls fine, and the atmosphere remains impressive. However, id Software didn't do enough (if they did anything) to upgrade the presentation, so we're left with glaringly old-fashioned technical elements that hinder the quest at every turn.- PSX Extreme
