Futuridium EP Deluxe is an easily forgettable title that can only be recommended to people who want an extreme challenge or die-hard fans of space shooters and/or puzzle games. If that’s not you, then I’d take a pass.

For newcomers like myself this remaster opens the door for a new generation to experience a piece of gaming history. It has faults, and the remaster might not be as extensive as some would hope, but Grim Fandango has aged well. More importantly Grim Fandango’s new lease on life ensures that it will be easily available to anyone for many years to come.

Woah Dave! is the kind of game that leaves me bummed out not because it’s bad, but because I want to like it. I see what it’s trying to do and I want to like it more than I do. I’m just not having fun playing it.

I’m now in the midst of my third playthrough with this game which will mark my fourth overall run with Resident Evil 1. Somehow it manages to get better each time I start up a new file.

Whether you played the PSM version or not Switch Galaxy Ultra is still just really fun.

The Binding of Isaac pulls off everything it tries to do, and very well. The story is interesting, the gameplay fantastic, and the art and music are wonderful as well. The only things I found wrong with the game were that the bosses were repetitive and the challenge mode was lacking fun.

The game’s greatest attributes are its humor and its fresh take on traditional RPG elements.

BlazeRush is a package of simple, frenetic fun.

While the core gameplay is enjoyable and the amount of content is impressive, Table Top Racing is missing too much to become a standout.

This is the kind of game you either instantly fall in love with or stare at in amazement. Surgeon Simulator A&E is a great port of the original title and brings more good new features than bad.

This might not be something that I go back to often, but it’s left me satisfied in a way that not many games do.

With its massive amount of modes and options its content is worth the asking price.

The Legend of Korra doesn’t have the budget of a full retail release and it shows. The levels feel empty, there’s very little variation in enemies, you’ll fight the same ‘boss’ multiple times, and everything just feels scaled down.

It’s an interesting way to tell a story that doesn’t necessarily have one true conclusion.

Hot dog costumes, door-to-door trick-or-treating, a dystopian future, and plenty of bad candy corn jokes are all just a small piece of what makes Costume Quest 2 another worthy game that should grab your attention during the month of October.

Escape Goat 2 proved to be so much more than I ever thought it would be. It’s the kind of puzzle game that takes simple mechanics, challenges you, and makes you feel like a genius. The great soundtrack and mutators just serve to be the cherry on top.

The music in Pix the Cat is fittingly fun.

Arcade Mode alone is enough to get me back into playing the game regularly, but aside from that there’s still enough new additions here to make this an easy recommendation for anyone.

Fantastic overall presentation.

I truly hope that more games attempt to give real world context in the same way that Never Alone does.

Teslagrad gets a lot of mileage out of its mechanics, whether it’s through puzzles or boss fights.

If nothing else, for me, it’s refreshing to play a sports game that stays true to the sport while not taking itself too seriously.

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams surprised me. It’s a mechanically sound platformer that, considering the origins of the franchise, has managed to differentiate itself in a pretty big way. Simply put Giana Sisters now feels like one of the most unique platformers on the market.

Whether you grew up with a ZX Spectrum or, like me, you’ve never seen one I think there’s a lot of great stuff here. It might be difficult for some to get used to the graphics at first, but when you do you’ll find a really fun game with some excellent music.
