It’s a good game overall, I just wish so much of what made the story interesting wasn’t ignored in the end.

Overall, Infinity Runner shows some bright spots of enjoyment, but occasional glitches and a broken Infinity mode puts a sour taste in any purchaser’s mouth. Framerate drops, and deaths that don’t really feel like they were your fault, doesn’t help much either. The story isn’t there to hold your interest, even if you can watch the cutscenes. The game can be improved with a patch, but there is a lot here to clean up.

The first Chronicles entry isn’t perfect, but it’s a good starting point.

Shovel Knight has everything. It’s fun, the soundtrack is ridiculously good, the difficulty curve feels just right, there’s smart level design, funny writing, a story that’s surprisingly touching, and so much more.

Personally it’s still tough to justify the $20 price tag, but the new features make the price a little more reasonable. However, if you are looking for a game to play with others who normally don’t play games, but love baseball, give this a look.

Titan Souls is super fun, challenging, and rewarding in a way that not many games are. Also, shooting an arrow through a Yeti’s butt has never felt so great.

All in all, puzzle game fans owe it to themselves to try out Stealth Inc. 2, you won’t regret it.

Aaru’s Awakening can be beaten in just a few sittings and the experience isn’t memorable or overall exciting. It is worth somewhat of a playthrough to look at the gorgeous environments and characters, provided they don’t kill you first.

Soldner X-2 was an enjoyable experience, even if it was short. The gameplay is fun and the adaptive difficulty really makes the game great.

Slender to me always demonstrates why it’s so scary to feel like someone or something is watching you. I think Slenderman The Arrival succeeds in doing that. At the same time I think the gameplay and story could be more interesting.

That said Axiom Verge is a game that absolutely nails exploration/discovery and that’s an experience that people deserve to have for themselves. After three full playthroughs I can’t think of many other games that have proved to be as rewarding as this. It’s the kind of game that, just when I thought I figured it out, it would surprise me again and again.

Overall, Yobie is enjoyable for a few moments until you see past its bland weapons and tedious cog collecting. Only 5 missions and 2 difficulty settings doesn’t help much to broaden the overall short experience. It all ends in an unsatisfying conclusion that isn’t worth the $20 price tag.

This is an abstract game, especially up front. The only tutorials to be found are vague pictures in the background that hint at what actions you can perform.

Hyperdevotion has potential, but it has some problems that it needs to work out before becoming the fun game that it definitely can be. The combat is slow, the story is terribly boring, and the game’s difficulty should be tweaked. There’s a good game hiding somewhere in Hyperdevotion, now the job is just finding it.

It sucks to say it, but the frustrating controls flat out ruin any enjoyment I had with Q*Bert Rebooted. The path that you take throughout each stage is so important to Q*Bert and having controls that don’t cooperate in that respect really sucks.

For as great as The Firefly Diary looks it’s really unfortunate that the gameplay can be so frustrating. Cheap deaths, unresponsive touch controls, and a number of other smaller annoyances really hurt my experience with the game by the time it was all said and done.

Each adventure through Hand of Fate has allowed me to imagine myself journeying through many far off places, meeting different people, and overcoming any number of obstacles. Even in the face of many technical issues I’m so hooked that I can’t help but continue to come back for more with each passing day.

Kick & Fennick is the kind of game that I was ready to put down about a chapter before things wrapped up. It’s not a bad game, I’m mostly positive on it, but it took too long to capture my attention.
