The King of Fighters '98 is a fantastic port of an excellent game, but don't expect any frills.

Lego Batman: Beyond Gotham is another solid Batman game, but it's not much more than that.

Dead Effect 2 is more of the same, but if that's what you're after, and you can look past its ickier traits, you'll enjoy it.

The Trace is a little plain, but does a good job of letting you play detective with its smart cobweb of questions and clues.

Archetype is a great-looking and fun shooter, but it has improvements to make before becoming the essential iPhone shooter.

Lego The Lord of the Rings for iOS costs a fraction of its home console counterpart, and it's a fraction of the game, but it's a decent single-player introduction to the Lego franchise.

Despite its lack of originality, LEGO City Undercover is a fun and light-hearted LEGO game which you can't help but smile at.

AlphaBounce successfully incorporates RPG elements into the brick-breaking genre, but doesn't supply the gameplay to back it up.

Burn the Rope is an original and taxing accelerometer-driven puzzler, though its flames are dampened slightly by a lack of adequate feedback.

Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention takes a while to learn, but once you've passed the entrance exam there's enough content to hold your attention far beyond the school holidays.

This pint-sized racer is so playable and packed with fan-service that Sega fans will want to hop on board as soon as possible - but it doesn't quite match Mario Kart when it comes to raw enjoyment and multiplayer brilliance.

Space Chicks is great fun, though the action can get crowded at times. It boldly goes where no endless-runner has gone before, and the genre is better for it.

Like so many games nowadays, Atomik: RunGunJumpGun is presented in a lovely pixel art style, but the biggest plus point is the soundtrack. It each level brilliantly, especially when you're wearing headphones. ATOMIK: RunGunJumpGun becomes very atmospheric when played this way. Which is a major pro as there's barely any story here and what is delivered via soundbite dialogue between stages feels a bit tacked on. What could be a relatively bland game truly excels on the Switch, and if you're a completist going for all the collectibles, you'll be here for a long time.

Yes, it’s another LEGO game, and no, it doesn't really add anything new to the gameplay. On the other hand, we can’t have too many LEGO games, and this is a first class addition to the ever-growing club.
