Enigmatis 2: The Mists of Ravenwood is another solid hidden object game and one I thoroughly enjoyed. It takes gentle steps to vary up the puzzles and definitely feels like one of the better games by Artifex Mundi. This is a very easy game to enjoy and the mildly spooky detective story kept my interest throughout.

A fun arcade racer that provides added value for those willing to get their hands dirty. However, those who just want to race might find the experience a limited one. Buy into the whole creative side and it’ll make you feel like a kid again, especially if you’re the type that likes to collect.

There are so many roguelikes on PSN now but this is one of the better ones, elevated as it is by a brilliant cast of playable characters. The same roguelike pitfalls apply though so expect some grind and repetition.

An accomplished homage to GTA games of old with some interesting mechanics. Sometimes less is indeed more. We're going to go the distance with this one.

WRC 8 is an accomplished effort with a career mode that now feels more complete. The content on offer is substantial with plenty to sink hours into. The presentation might look a little dry but the audio works well with the detail of the environments being complimented by a dynamic weather system. It's really starting to feel like a series getting better with age and rally fans should feel right at home.

Mary Skelter: Nightmares introduces some interesting mechanics to the dungeon RPG formula to separate it from the crowd. The story and characters aren't great but the exploration and party management is fun enough to still make this worth a look.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole is strictly for fans of the show but the turn-based combat is even better than before and the game tells a good story. It might not be the best turned-based RPG but it is definitely the most entertaining one.

Under The Island is a lovely pixel art adventure in the grand style of SNES and GBA era Zelda adventures. Yes, there’s some issues with pathfinding on occasion and some of the collectibles appear to be bugged, but you’ll no doubt enjoy this as we did. Get to it and start exploring under the island. Sorry not sorry.

If you're an Atari fan, it's hard to imagine a compilation put together with as much attention to detail and love for the subject. Sure, the games aren't always that good but even for us as UK gamers who never much cared for Atari, there are some gems on here to play and plenty of extra material to check out. This is retro done right.

Rival Megagun takes an age-old genre, adds a few twists and a bit of charm and ends up being a game that works well as an arcade-style shoot 'em up, a potentially popular online title and a potential party game favourite.

If you can get past the poor first impression, Starward Rogue ends up being a very enjoyable twin-stick shooter with lots of interesting gameplay mechanics.

Concerns over longevity aside, Sairento offers you a unique twist on the old 'be a ninja, kill everyone' style of game and uses PSVR effectively to make you feel like a high level ninja assassin better than any game since the original Tenchu.

Hoggy2 is a fun kid friendly puzzle game with the usual easy double platinum for not very much cash. The level editor is an added sweetener as is the kids mode. Recommended.

Roguebook's two character combat adds enough to the gameplay and replayability to help it stand out. The lower initial difficulty will please those that were scared off by the amazing Slay the Spire but with enough modifiers to please veterans. Well worth a look.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is a step up from the 360-era Complete Saga in that it now covers all nine films in the Skywalker story arc. There's so much to do and so many excellent little refinements that you'll be well catered for even if you've played all the other Lego Star Wars games. Splitscreen multiplayer makes this ideal for siblings to play too.

Wreckfest looks, plays and feels better than ever on PS5 and its mix of arcade chaos and realistic physics still holds up very well indeed.

Telling Lies manages to deliver an intricate and intriguing tale within a format that still manages to engage. Digging through the files and uncovering new information can be enjoyable and insightful. It could do with a few conveniences and the interface still likes to withhold information, but there's a provocative tale here. It's backed up with some incredible writing and stellar performances across the board.

Assetto Corsa Competizione gets so much right. The spectacular physics have made their way to console untouched and the license allows them to focus brilliantly on so much. The sights and sounds feel in service of giving you knowledge and the feedback is all on hand to make you a better racer. It's not exactly accessible but it is rewarding and addictive.

Vikings: Wolves of Midgard is a very competent entry to action RPG genre with few caveats. Peppered among the well detailed Norse mythology inspired locales are occasional performance issues and a formulaic story. While notable, these do not detract from a fun and satisfying hack and slash experience. It must be hard to challenge a king of the genre like Diablo, but Vikings: Wolves of Midgard is a brilliant alternative to the Blizzard giant.

Don't let the pixel graphics fool you, Depth of Extinction is a very good addition to the turn-based strategy genre. There are strong FTL and XCOM vibes but it has a few ideas of its own and excels where it counts.

If you can get past its PS1-era looks, which do have their own charm, there's a lot of fun to be had with it. Especially if you're a fan of auto-battling roguelites like we are.

If you can handle a challenge, Deadbolt's mix of stealth, shooting and strategy is well worth checking out.

As the premier 2D skateboarding series, our expectations for any new OlliOlli content are always high and while this DLC doesn't add anything particularly game-changing, the new levels and challenges are just right for fans of the main game.

Overcooked 2 feels as fresh as the original and the generous seasoning of online multiplayer and additional modes sweetens the deal considerably. This is one of the best multiplayer experiences out there right now and one well worth picking up if you have three friends who want to cook up a storm.

Rogue Legacy 2 takes the original and stuffs it full of new content. For the most part, this is all welcome and done to the impeccably high standards of the original but there's so much going on at times that the game can start to feel a bit dense and weighed down by it. But the addictiveness that you expect from the original is still here and will definitely keep you playing.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is rough around the edges but offers an adventure worth taking for those who prefer a more realistic, slower pace to their open world RPG.

The Pedestrian is an ace collection of puzzles thematically linked by some very clever set dressing as you traverse 3D environments via 2D puzzles. It's really quite good. Get on it.

It hasn't moved far visually from last year's effort but the package F1 2021 is offering is substantial. Braking Point provides a daft narrative diversion that might offer new players a gateway into the sport. For the rest of us, career mode remains largely the same with plenty of time to be spent chasing the front of the grid. The handling feels consistent and the racing is compelling, although the AI does seem to lack a little pace. The DualSense offers some welcome additional feedback, although I did find initially the adaptive triggers off-putting.
