The unique artistic vision behind the game deserves a tip of the hat. However, the same cannot be said for the unimaginative characters, deserted multiplayer modes and technical shortcomings.

A decent, rather unremarkable game, turned mediocre among other things by long loading times and repetitive gameplay.

MediEvil shows its age, but remains a fun hack-and-slash romp that hilariously pokes fun at every conceivable Halloween and fantasy trope. The game’s still very much worth your time, even if it has become a little rough around its edges.

Visually impressive and superbly executed, The Outer Worlds is the type of RPG experience that dreams are made of. As soon as the credits roll, you’ll find yourself wanting more. In this case, that’s a compliment.

There's a lot to love here, from GRID's expansive multiplayer modes to the game's ability to cater to your every whim and need. The lack of splitscreen multiplayer is disappointing though, as are the often lacklustre graphics and severely mediocre enemy AI.

Concrete Genie is worth playing for its neat story and the magical atmosphere of its world. You should know, though, that it lacks the depth to fully sustain its - already brief - runtime.

If the franchise's wonderful conversion to 2,5D is the exceptionally juicy cake, the engaging story, colourful worlds and strong level design form the delicious layer of icing on top.

Jon Bernthal steals the show, though what's here truly isn't valuable enough to warrant stealing. The game's a technical mess, and displays stupid AI, repetitive missions and unnecessary looter shooter elements. All of these combine to turn Ghost Recon: Breakpoint into one of the most disappointing experiences of the year.

Why change a winning team? Well, for starters: to avoid the feeling of a franchise playing it safe and resting on its laurels. In fact, Trine 4 often feels more like an expansion than a new game, which is never a good thing. Granted, co-op is a lot of fun, though even here you'll need to overlook the game's repetitive nature.

Blasphemous represents the vision of a true artist, but remains a diamond in the rough due to technical difficulties and a frustrating degree of unfairness. There's room for improvement, let's leave it at that.

It's fun in co-op... kind of... I guess? Hell, there's really no need to sugar coat this: technically subpar and nigh unplayable due to a frustrating camera and horrible controls, Contra: Rogue Corps simply cannot be recommended to anyone.

The Surge 2 follows the SoulsBorne formula to a T, but forgets to add some fresh ingredients of its own to the mix. The lack of original ideas is mirrored in the game's lacklustre technical execution.

Code Vein mixes the popular Soulsborne formula with an anime look and mostly delivers on the lofty expectations its hype machine created. The AI's a bit wonky though, and co-op could use some improvement.

A decent continuation of This Is The Police, with a much appreciated focus on stealth and a lot of content. Not a fan of the AI though and the presence of time pressure keeps frustration levels well above what's enjoyable.

Microtransactions remain a scourge that should be exterminated, but if you can ignore them, there's a lot to love about the new FIFA. Chief among which the new Volta mode, which takes the franchise to the streets like never before. Subtle improvements round out an overall impressive package.

Graphically excellent and superb in the gameplay department, Konami once more manages to give FIFA a run for its money on many fronts. There are some nitpicks though, of which the annoying referees and disappointing AI are the most unwelcome.

There's a lot more depth to WRC 8's career mode when compared to its predecessors and that's a major plus. The game's graphics have received an update as well. The learning curve is a bit steep, but don't let that stop you from giving this one a go.

The races are as much fun as they've always been and Playground is still an enjoyable addition to the formula. However, if you take the long loading times, the inconsistent reset system and a rather uninspired technical performance into account, it's hard to recommend MXGP 2019 at full price.

Borderlands 3 is more of the same in the best possible way, while some small tweaks to gunplay and exploration - being able to fight your way through multiple planets is invigorating - are welcome additions to the franchise.

GreedFall is worth your time, mainly because of its intriguing world, which is full of interesting stories and political mindgames. Some bugs detract from the experience, though - as does the unpredictable AI.

This expansion brings a phenomenal story set in a fun new environment and offers Trials that are truly worth your time and effort. When push comes to shove, however, Shadowbringers is mainly more of the same in a good way.

Dontnod once again delivers the goods, with a well-paced, thoroughly intriguing narrative. In the end, the result is perhaps a bit too repetitive to be truly great, and the same can be said about the game's animations. If you're into the story, though, you shouldn't be too bothered about this.

A truly great expansion that adds wonderful monsters, areas, gear and gameplay improvements to the base game. If you are even a little bit interested in the Monster Hunter franchise, you should buy Iceborne without a second thought.

A spiritual successor to the excellent Until Dawn, Man of Medan is the promising first entry in a brand new series of interactive horror films. Once again, there are plenty of scares to be experienced and 'life or death' choices to be made, though technically the game just doesn't run smooth enough to be as good as the developer's magnum opus.

This story needs to be experienced and by adding new puzzles and a character we haven't seen before, Catherine even becomes attractive to people who have already played a previous iteration of the game. In other words: this girl is still very much worth your time.

Interesting concept, lacklustre execution. A good story with a neat soundtrack, brought down a bit by a mediocre script and a frankly rather useless segment called 'The Beyond'.

It's not interactive enough to work as a game, though it's perhaps a bit too interactive to count as a movie. The choices you're presented with may be interesting on paper, but in practice they mostly just remove all tension from what should and could've been a fine thriller.

Remedy Entertainment is back with a great game, sporting an intriguing story, solid gameplay and excellent graphics. The sporadic frame drops are a bit of a letdown, but in the end you won't be too bothered about this. Sincerely recommended.

About time this game got a western release! It's a lot of fun too, though the game does start to show its age in both gameplay and graphics departments. It's an okay game, but the brief length and lack of any multiplayer options are the final nails in Metal Wolf Chaos XD's proverbial coffin.
