The PSP version of the game is a pretty dead-on conversion of the console version which is awesome to see.

It doesn’t take itself too seriously, gives you more weapons and zombies than you know what to do with, and it’s funny in that B-movie kind of a way. The gameplay is fast and exciting, too.

The game’s multiplayer mode adds a lot of replay value, though. This and the excellent presentation make Syphon Filter one of the best games on its series and one of the best games available on the PSP.

Guitar Hero: On Tour Decades is a great expansion of the series on the DS.

Two very distinct products – a tycoon, studio manager of sorts and a detailed movie making piece of software. The game doesn’t intertwine them as well as it should, but The Movies has enough going for it to make it easily recommendable.

NBA Live 08 doesn’t add a whole lot of new modes, but the stronger gameplay goes a long way. The improved, more realistic gameplay, coupled with the excellent presentation package make NBA Live 08 a must-have for basketball game fans.

Red Faction: Guerrilla has some flaws including largely forgettable characters, game world and story. But it does one thing extremely well: it allows you blow up a lot of stuff in a number of different and satisfying ways.

Great visuals, fine audio, pleasurable online and solid gameplay.

In classic Rare fashion, there are a few nods to Nintendo thrown in there but it’s nice to see that the developer hasn’t lost its touch to make remarkable games.

So, is Assassin’s Creed perfect? Not exactly. The main game will run around 20 hours but you’ll see most of what the game offers in the first few.

The greatly improved presentation is top-notch, sealing the game up very well.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a superb action game especially for fans of the character. This is the Wolverine game that fans have been waiting for. It’s not incredibly varied and a lesser game would have suffered because of this but Wolverine is just incredibly fun.

It’s the Halo sequel that fans have been demanding. And it’s the game that’s going to sell a lot of Xbox 360s.

Provides just enough new stuff to please fans of the series.

The tweaks to the core gameplay, the addition of the BMX moves, and the inclusion of a massive city to skate around in are definitely appreciated.

Need for Speed: Shift is a compelling racing game that does an admirable job of balancing its simulation side with its arcade side. The combination of fun events, varied tracks and a solid racing engine make quite a convincing package.

Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway is an intense and powerful shooter.

The game addresses one of the chief concerns of the first Fable, its length.

A very solid game, just not the upgrade I expected from the console versions. Nonetheless, the game remains fun to play and offers a compelling experience.

If you can get a group of friends who don’t mind, the game becomes insanely fun. And those videos can later be used for blackmail.

Gun Showdown manages to improve on the original in many ways. You get more content (and thus correcting one of the main faults against the game), multiplayer and portable-friendly minigames. The underlying gameplay is still top-notch and the presentation is as well.

MLB 08: The Show easily wins the “most improved” award but it may very well be the best PS3 baseball game. It plays well, looks amazing, and really showcases the power of the PS3.

It doesn’t deviate far from the typical formula. It doesn’t really need to. With tight controls, impressive graphics, a multitude of arenas and vehicles, and online play, this game is easily recommendable.

The polished graphics, new missions and classes, and multiplayer mode are all icing on the cake for a game that is genuinely funny and provides a rather unique experience.

Metroid Prime: Hunters is excellent and shows that FPS can be well done on portables.

The game’s single-player mode is fantastic, effectively using the Doom 3 engine to make a game of its own. It really showcases the engine well and shows its versatility.

Dead or Alive Ultimate kicks the ass squarely. It is a fast-paced, beautiful fighting game with an excellent online mode to boot.
