Star Hammer: The Vanguard Prophecy is tactical space battle, with really good and innovative battle module. Unfortunately it also has possibly the worst campaign presentation ever in history of videogaming. Ugly heads talk and talk and talk. And talk some more. [Aug 2015]

A hardcore Star Wars fan's dream come true. Decent solo game with playable jedi characters, furious space fights and awesome net play. What else can you ask for? As a PC game Battlefront 2 is a technically lacking hyperactive bunnyhopper. Again. [Dec 2005]

The pocket-size Resistance tries it's best to imitate a shooter on PSP. Unfortunately the PSP itself sets boundaries, which are impossible to go around. The controls don't work and the lack of precision is aided with automatic aiming, which practically kills all the challenge. The graphics are good, there are few good one-liners, and the story is worth checking out. It's a shame, that the game tumbles in basics. [May 2009]

Competent WW2 -version of World in Conflict, camera controls could use some extra freedom. But when gameplay is simplified, it must be compensated with gorgeous graphics and interesting story, as WiC did. And Order of War is truly lame name. [Nov 2010]

If you have played MarioParty games before you know all too well what DS version is about. Neat, cute and smooth fun for you and three friends, throwing the dice to get you around the board and organizing mischief to the others inbetween collecting randomly scattered stars, minigames following each round to win some more money - you know the stuff. And if you don't then this is as good a time as any to learn what MarioParty means. DS version is no inferior to any other previous one so go check it out for some light hearted fun á la Nintendo. Tries to find a new direction for the series, but the choices made are hit-and-miss. Amped 3 feels watered down and butchered compared to Amped 2. The crazy cutscenes are fun to watch, though. [Feb 2006]

An entertaining tactical puzzle game. If only there was more room for actual strategic manoeuvres and more alternative ways to complete the missions. [Oct 2007]

Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 is definitely an upgrade from last year´s version but some of the new features are a mixed bag. For example much waited teammate control is way too complicated to master. AI is a tough opponent but as a teammate it still has some issues especially in defense. [Nov 2011]

Battle of Britain 2: Wings of Victory waits for a patch to make it steadier. A great campaign system and a very interesting flight model provide lots of good single player action. [Oct 2005]

A game that stirs up mixed feelings. The sword fighting is fun and the quirky originality of the dialogue, style and atmosphere make a lot for the negatives, namely the boring side jobs and the dead GTA style city. Also the visuals are a mixed bag. The cartoony characters look good and the retro touches are wonderful. On the other hand many places are bland and down right ugly. The bloodless European version feels neutered. Still overall, No More Heroes is a positive and refreshing experience. [May 2008]

Amazing Spider-Man: The Video Game is terrific fun for web-slinging in the skies of Manhattan, but as a whole falls short of the brilliance of the Batman games it copies due to lackluster level design and repetitive gameplay. [Sept 2012]

A technically competent city builder that lacks any kind of real depth of gameplay mechanics. There's not much left of a city builder when it's missing many crucial components like a public transport network and infrastructure design. [Jan 2010]

Controlling your horde of loyal and evil Naši youth feels refreshing compared to the typical action adventure formula. The technical execution is solid and the over the top fantasy cliché humour works decently. The game does not have a whole lot of longevity or challenge but it does have burning hobbits. [Aug 2007]

Ubisoft's flagship title has a really, really repulsive protagonist. The entire storyline feels like it was cranked out of a automated story generator. On the positive side, Watch Dogs looks really good on PC, especially after modding the graphics to match the visual splendor of the early E3 demos. [Aug 2014]

A rather simple collection of five Kinect mini-games with a Star Wars theme. Two of the games are good, two are okay and the last one boring and it's hard to evaluate their long-term appeal, but overall it's a fun, silly game for those who do not take Star Wars too seriously. [May 2012]

Shelter is a bit short and a bit too easy, but it's also beautiful, touching and unique. Also, it's a game about badgers, how could you not like it? I would love to see an expanded sequel, even if it would just be more of the same. [Oct 2013]

A nice Dracula themed point'n click adventure, which comes with decent voice acting and beautiful graphics. Unfortunately the game doesn't exploit the potential of the characters of Van Helsing and Count Dracula. Half of the story is wasted in weird Egypt episode. Luckily the story gets back on the track in the last third of the game. All in all, the inventive puzzles raise the game over the mediocrity and make it worth playing. More vampires next time, thank you. [Sept 2008]

A decent, if uninspired fantasy RPG in the vein of the Elder Scrolls and Gothic series. Its biggest problem is the generic fantasy setting combined with general mediocrity. But in the end, it is fun to play, and there can never be too many RPGs like that. [Sept 2007]

The game is a thoroughly atmospheric side scrolling action adventure game. The action feels a touch too limited and a touch too clumsy and the adventuring is rather basic. The negatives are almost offset by a very engaging storyline. I'm looking forward to seeing how the story develops, but in order for this to become a cult classic the gameplay could use some additional development. [Sept 2014]
