A true blast from the past, turn based fantasy strategy in the spirit of old classics from 90s. A bold move that succeeds. Commanding your own orc horde or mercenary army to victory through the linear campaign is simply fun, especially when the game mechanics have nothing to be ashamed of, and there’s plenty of complexity to keep you thinking. Takes a normal fantasy world and turns it into a refreshingly interesting place. Geralt is an excellent main character. The story moves along nicely after the boring old amnesia start and there are lots of things to do. The only major setback is the unresponsive combat, which doesn't give enough feedback to the player about what's really happening and if the commands are accepted or not. [Nov 2007]

It’s a shame Monster Hunter is imprisoned within the confines of the 3DS, especially for a game as good as Generations is. If Capcom wanted a more widespread audience for Monster Hunter in the west, they should definitely release it on Steam. [Sept 2016]

LittleBigPlanet 3 is a quite short, but very nice and pretty multiplayer platformer, one of the very best on its multiplayer niche. Competent and easy level editor rounds up the package nicely. [Dec 2014]

Gaslamp Games has produced a modern version of roguelike. Although the game is blessed with comical graphics instead of typography, the mechanics under the hood remain the same from the Nethack era. The game is really, really unfair, but at the same time it is strangely addictive. [Sept 2011]

F1 2016 really is a huge step in the right direction after horrible 2015 release. Beautiful visuals (except the rubber-faced monstrosities posing as drivers and crew), well-done handling and the emphasis on little nuances of race weekend makes this easily the best game in the franchise. A little more personality traits to different AI drivers and maybe some emphasis on track-side visuals would make it even better. [Sept 2016]

A great game, also (or even) as a PC incarnation. But for marketing Vista and its DX10 graphics, Halo 2 is looking a couple years too dated. Hopefully Halo 3 will be converted faster. [June 2007]

The kings of the silly and witty make their way to the consoles. Sam&Max is still one of the funniest games on the shelves. The Wii version suffers a little inaccuracy of the mote control but fortunately it doesn't spoil the fun. If you crave for an adventure and haven't tried this out, now is the time. [Feb 2009]

If it has zombies, it can't be bad - at least not, when we're talking about Sam&Max adventure. After a little bit boring second episode NRV takes the series back where it belongs: to the top five of the recent adventure genre. Equipped with witty humor, funny characters and completely absurd plot the night of the living dead is worth every penny. Some puzzles are a little bit illogical and not all the jokes are funny, but so what? [June 2008]

Thanks to PC controls, shooting is no longer a source of constant irritation and the game can really shine. CoC in an excellent horror adventure. Fear and loss of sanity can really be seen and felt. The game is faithful to Cthulhu mythos, full of memorable scenes and has the only ending there can be. [Apr 2006]

A very good fantasy-RTS slash -RPG with heavy emphasis on the RTS-side of things. The difficulty level seems to be all over the place and the story is quite dull, though. [Apr 2008]
