Graphics aside, Geneforge 2 is a terrific game to start with if you're fairly new to the RPG genre. It's easy to just dive in and start playing, and all the help you need is built into the interface - just a mouse-click away at all times. And the game's virtually bug-free. The game's apples-to-apples translation keeps it only good instead of great. I kept wishing the developers had done more to capitalize on the new platform. [Feb 2004, p.81]- PC Gamer

It seems that my best efforts to "train" [my fellow climbers] in the various arts of climbing, they all seem to lack the most basic cognitive thinking. In fact, they keep insisting on trying to walk through rocks (as opposed to simply walking around them), and they bunch up when it comes time to climb, crawling around on the ground like common baboons. The shallow management quickly devolves into make-work. Toss in frustrating random hurricanes and fires, and you'll recall why you couldn't wait to graduate. [May 2004, p.73]- PC Gamer

SNS's powersliding physics, six-player GameSpy action, and assertive AI are as entertaining as ever, but a horribly unrealistic "Velcro Wall" effect (lightly grazing the outside barrier now slows your car to a virtual standstill) and some persistent graphics, audio, and controller glitches eventually thrown an unwelcome wrench into the proceedings. Even more annoying is the omission of any kind of multiplay, which is where the real joy lies in this kind of game. [Sept 2004, p.70]- PC Gamer

Fans of the genre will enjoy the game's depth and strategic planning. If you're interested in Vietnam or modern air combat, check it out. [Dec 2004, p.94]- PC Gamer

Normally, a weak narrative isn't necessarily a deal-breaker, but in this case, where the technology is so horribly dated, the reason you play Spiderweb's games is for a great story and memorable characters. And Blades fails in that regard, instead using rehashed gameplay, leveling mechanics, and inventory management. [Oct 2004, p.96]- PC Gamer

Real-life roster or no, the AI is ruthless about trades, always demanding a pound of flesh for any desired player, and the off-season progression is especially well-modeled, with realistically unpredictable swings in the fortunes of your farm-league prospects. [Nov 2004, p.90]- PC Gamer

Almost-passable fare for a wacky-golf game, but it can't hold a candle to the superbly crafted "Links" and "Tiger Woods" games of even several years past - both of which are available for this game's $20 price. [Dec 2004, p.106]- PC Gamer

For all its style in terms of graphics, backstory, and iterface, EVE remains a complex and slow-paced game that will prove anathema to anyone currently hooked on the simpler, more immediate delights of, say, "World of Warcraft." [March 2005, p.71]- PC Gamer
