Boom Street is a pleasant and surprisingly enjoyable board game for those who have the time and patience to actually be able to sit through a few games.

War of the Lions is a good game, but players who've never played Final Fantasy Tactics might find it a bit old and cumbersome, while veterans may find the new game a little scant on new content.

Definitely an above average game, but significant longevity issues bring an otherwise great game down.

Def Jam Rapstar confidently captures the swagger of the hip-hop genre with a slick combination of old-school and new-school tracks which are sure to delight any funky monkey.

If you’ve played the original, Thrillville: Off the Rails is very similar and only features a few basic improvements. That said, it’s the superior version.

The Buzz! series is still undoubtedly good value and Buzz! Hollywood Quiz! is a game that Buzz! fans will definitely enjoy.

Certainly far from being groundbreaking, but if it’s an old-school RTS you’re looking for, then this may be worth checking out.

A good game. It's also one that has been there before.

Once you get past the highly questionable handling the game will draw you in, it has a wealth of options and a lower RRP in Australia.

A good port of one of the best 2D fighters in the last couple of years. The only new thing it brings to the table is novelty, but with solid mechanics and visuals it's worth a look for fighting fans anyway.

    Wet
While the action is at times shallow and clunky, WET provides gamers with light popcorn entertainment that's an arguably short, but fun ride.

Speed Racer is a very solid movie game tie in that does justice to the film. In fact, it's easily the best movie game tie in of the year, aside from the lack of content the game is a lot of fun and makes every other racing game feel slow.

Sonic 3 is a fast and entertaining platformer, although it may be worth considering buying it inside of one of Sega's larger collections.

At times the gameplay can be a bit repetitive, and the humour isn't as successful as you'd hope, but if you're after more of the same then you'll feel right at home with Serious Sam II.

Ghost Squad isn't a revolution, or even an evolution of the arcade light gun shooter. The game is simple to play and the addition of a few Wii bonus options does add a little more to the package.

A fantastic title for the Xbox Live Arcade because it's easily accessible and a game you can spend hours or minutes on.

The Sims 2 isn't the instant classic that the PC version became, but Maxis had to face a lot of issues when porting the game to the consoles, and aside from a lackluster story mode and less than ideal controls the game is still fairly enjoyable.

The handling is a little floaty and the game hasn’t really evolved, but when you’re having fun you’re unlikely to care all that much at all.

Despite the glaring flaws, there's a huge amount of enjoyment to be had with Singularity. It's not an essential title, but it certainly brightens up this dull time of year.

FIFA 08 is without a doubt the most realistic FIFA title yet, but only just. There have been a few gameplay refinements and the new modes are decent. It's disappointing Australians will miss out on the 5 vs 5 be a pro online feature as that is one of the drawcards for FIFA 08.

The individual mechanics come together reasonably well with none being brilliant or outstanding but once you get the way that the game encourages you to play, it works out reasonably well. It's just too bad that it doesn't really hit the peaks that you'd expect.

A refreshing take on the RPG genre. Your preferences will decide how much enjoyment you gain from it, but as it stands, Phantasy Star Portable 2 is an accessible adventure for every PSP owner.

Constricted. It isn’t so much that Darkstar One is a bad game, it’s just that the developers failed to optimise on good ideas - it seems as though they took the easy way out rather than expand on them.
