  • Summary: [Xbox Live Arcade] Sonic and Tails are back for another adventure in Sonic The Hedgehog 3 as they again battle the evil Dr. Eggman (aka Dr. Robotnik), who is desperately trying to collect all the Chaos Emeralds in order to rebuild his Death Egg. Our heroes must find the Chaos Emeralds[Xbox Live Arcade] Sonic and Tails are back for another adventure in Sonic The Hedgehog 3 as they again battle the evil Dr. Eggman (aka Dr. Robotnik), who is desperately trying to collect all the Chaos Emeralds in order to rebuild his Death Egg. Our heroes must find the Chaos Emeralds before Dr. Eggman does, but winning the race won't be easy. A new adversary, Knuckles the Echidna, has arrived on the scene and will do whatever he can to keep Sonic and Tails from reaching their goal.     this game is perfection. the amazing story is told through multiple cutscenes without any of the characters speaking a single word and thethis game is perfection. the amazing story is told through multiple cutscenes without any of the characters speaking a single word and the replay value is through the roof. the story has redemption betrayal and more. this is the best video game of all time. it introduces a new form for the characters which is the first and last time it appears in the entire sonic the hedgehog series. and the game is just stuffed to the brim with charm. and the music slaps so hard that it turns into a tattoo. you will never find another game like this. if you for some reason have never played this game then you are missing out on the best video game of all time. 10/10 would 100% recommend… Expand

    Brilliant game, decent port. For 2009, the emulation isn't half bad and still holds up impressively well, even by today's standards. So majorBrilliant game, decent port. I like the extra options, like being able to stretch the aspect ratio to whatever you want and togglable pixel smoothing, but they're nothing groundbreaking. The GUI is nice. Again, nothing special, but it doesn't need to be. Less is sometimes more. One thing I'm not too happy about is having to buy Sonic & Knuckles separately and as a different game. I mean, both games are pretty cheap, but for convenience's sake, I would have preferred having the full experience in one. A slightly higher price point I wouldn't mind.
    As for the game itself, it might just be the pinnacle of 2D platforming. Excellent design, head-boppin' music, brilliant art... the game is near flawless.
    All in all, pretty good port. If you just want a way to play the classic game on your Xbox 360, this is the way to go. But, for the definitive experience, not so much.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The third mainline instalment in the series and it's the best. in fact, it's a masterpiece. All 6 zones are great accept Carnival night zone, that zone is mediocre and has bad music. Why? because the level design ain't great. Apart from that though, this game really fun. You can play as Sonic and Tails or either character separately, your choice, and both feel fun to play as. And Tails can fly, that's, all I need to say.… Expand
