While not as well tuned as other Mario sports titles, Mario Superstar Baseball achieves exactly what it set out to do - provide a good arcade-style baseball game.

A brilliantly British and charming but cheesy title. There's room to improve, but there's still a grand old time to be had here.

Jak X is one of the better kart-styled races on the market. It's a solid experience that Jak fans should come to enjoy.

As different, interesting and funny as Stubbs is, clunky controls are annoying, poor design and many dubious decisions are intolerable at market price and simply, an ordinary game is an ordinary game.

Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded isn't better than its predecessor but it is a solid compilation in its own right.

The Umbrella Chronicles should satisfy anyone looking for a solid light gun game, though some fans might be a little disappointed with its brevity.

Yakuza is quite a decent game. Several components, especially the voice work let it down and detract from its immersive elements. Had these been improved upon it would have been great.

A solid FPS with a great storyline, it just doesn't bring too much new to the genre, and at times feels very familiar.

If you're into tennis games then Top Spin 2 comes highly recommended, just don't expect a completely upgraded game.

Activision Hits Remixed is one of the best compilations ever - with slick presentation and plenty of nostalgia, you won't find a much better retro compilation than Activision Hits Remixed.

Empire at War did a great job of bringing the Star Wars universe to the RTS genre. Corruption continues its legacy offering a brand new, oft ignored, faction into play whilst also adding some extremely new and engadging gamplay to the series.

While the game does suffer from a few niggling issues, there is nothing else really like it on the Wii, and is a big improvement over the original. If you're into stategic warfare, give Battalion Wars 2 a go.

Buzz!: The Mega Quiz is the best Buzz title yet. With several difficulty levels and a wide range of round types it's a game that's guaranteed to be a crowd favourite for a long time.

Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space is a hilarious collection of episodic adventure games, that outshines the previous season in variety, gameplay and plot. Visual and control issues in this 360 port are the only things that disappoint.

Fans of the first will still enjoy it, but Holkins and Krahulik need to return to their roots.

The game just feels so incredibly polished and even though the single player championship mode is a little bit bare you will keep returning to the game just for a quick race, the online play could be a drawcard for several people as well.

Unfortunately Clear Sky's myriad technical issues obscure a reasonably good game. Hopefully a series of patches will allow it to become fully realised, but as it currently stands, the game is far too filled with bugs to recommend.

Not quite a 2K killer, this year's edition of NBA Live is definitely a significant step towards reclaiming the basketball videogaming crown.
