War Sails opens a new chapter in our journey with Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord. With its nautical focus, the update transforms the game and enhances its potential for future development. Not only does it offer a refreshing experience for returning players, but it also has the potential to attract new players to the Mount & Blade series.

Although it has a little too much XCOM influences, we have a turn-based strategy in our hands that gives a good World War II atmosphere. It has some shortcomings in some points, but this does not change the fact that Classified France '44 is a good game. Anyone who likes XCOM will find something to enjoy.

MultiVersus is one of the rare online competitive games that is fun even when you're not playing with your friends. That means you should definitely give it a chance even if your friends turn down your "let's play!" offers.

This lighthearted and relatively easy take on the souls-like games is not only a good introduction for non-initiated players, but also a fun experience for the veterans of the genre.

It is not an easy task for a puzzle game to offer a lot of puzzles that stays true to its theme and make most of them enjoyable and rational. A Little to the Left achieves this.

I remember reviewing Code Vein in 2019. Dark Souls had inspired that game in very wrong ways and in turn it had made me swear off reviewing Soulslikes not made by From Software for the some time. Saying Lords of the Fallen did the same would be unfair but that doesn’t mean I don’t have some harsh words for the developers…

It’s got tons of style, but doesn’t really know how to turn that style into something that feels uniquely its own when you play it - still, it’s got heart.

Black Mermaid understood the ideas that made the 2D Soulslike genre successful and added new mechanics that reflect its own identity. If it didn't have flaws like story being too messy and combat having balance issues, it could have made its mark among the best examples of the genre.

On its own, Eiyuden Chronicle is a very successful game, a throwback to the golden age of the genre. However, it is a great risk for both players and itself that it does not offer anything new by swimming in completely guaranteed waters. Especially when you consider that Suikoden I & II HD Remaster is coming out soon.

It's hard to say that Loopmancer has brought any innovation to the roguelike genre, but it tries its best. The branching and decision-making parts of the story are pretty good, but there are lots of places where it falls short in terms of narration.

The Thaumaturge is a role-playing game that tries to go out of the ordinary with its intriguing plot, well-written dialogues, original characters and successful voiceovers. Travelling to 1905 Warsaw and experiencing the harsh conditions of that period first-hand adds a unique atmosphere to the game. However, the lack of enemy diversity, the weak detective mechanics, the simplicity of the side quests and some technical problems make it difficult to recommend it to those who are not hardcore fans of the genre.

Fatal Frame II Remake still holds a very special place among horror games because it doesn’t make you feel powerful, it makes you feel uneasy, and it does that exceptionally well. The combat system is creative, the atmosphere is outstanding, and the sound design is disturbingly effective. But yes, some of its mechanical stiffness and slow pacing aren’t something everyone will have the patience for. In other words, this game tells you: “You have no weapons. No comfort. Barely any escape. Take this camera and go deal with the spirits yourself!” And the strange thing is: this idea still works incredibly well.

Atlus' return to a non-Persona Megaten spin-off after all these years is really exciting and I can easily recommend if you've been waiting for it. But that doesn't change the fact that Soul Hackers 2 hasn't reached its full potential and could have been a much better game.

China is on a roll and nothing can stop it. Maybe WUCHANG won’t create as much buzz as Wukong but it certainly left a stong impression on me with it’s brilliant level design, art direction and elegant action. It’s the soulslike game that has it’s own unique identity and hopefully a franchise starter like Nioh. Play it, you won’t regret it.

The games industry needs more “crazies” like SUDA51. That said, the fact that so many original ideas have gone for years without being paired with truly top-tier gameplay makes it hard to tell whether the fault lies with the producers or with the man himself. The only thing I do know is this: the day he manages to combine this magnificent absurdity and presentation with high-caliber gameplay, his name will be etched in gold in the industry’s Hall of Fame.

Although the difficulty curve varies greatly, Darwin's Paradox has become one of the platform games I've enjoyed the most in recent years. Since there's no new MGS game on the horizon, I'd suggest giving this "Tactical Octopus Action" a chance.
