Heavy Fire: Black Arms is smack-dab in the lowest tier of the rail-shooter ladder, failing to offer anything of interest besides its attractive price.

All in all, Return to Ravenhearst will scare even the most enthusiastic hidden object fan away before the game is finished – and that's not because of the spooky story, either.

Koi DX is a cheap, uninspired game that has the beginnings of some good ideas, and it fails to execute any of them in a meaningful or memorable way. Boring gameplay, mediocre art direction, and an anaemic amount of content dooms this one to insignificance. We would strongly advise you to steer clear, as you very clearly are getting what you pay for, if not less. With so many other quality games available on the eShop right now, this is one to miss.

The experience is shallow, the gameplay is unrewarding and, believe it or not, a child is perceptive enough to know when they're being disillusioned by a bad product.

PONG released in 1972, and BLOC might as well have launched in 1973. It's PONG for four players, and nothing more. There is nothing of significance here that is worth your time; it's an entirely forgettable clone that feels like a cheap online flash game. If you feel like playing PONG or a similar game, save yourself the money and go play one of the many clones available on the internet for free. It won't have to do much to be more feature heavy than BLOC, and you won't be upset with yourself because you wasted money on it.

It goes without saying at this point, but we can’t recommend you play this. It’s a frustrating experience right from the start, and there’s really no incentive to play through the game’s forty-odd stages beyond morbid curiosity. The visuals are unattractive, and taking each shot is a chore we wouldn’t wish upon anyone. Angry Golf is a bunker shot; best leave it there.

We won’t mince words here, Summer in Mara has absolutely nothing to offer that hasn’t been done much better in other games that are easily available right now. If you want a cozy farm sim with a pleasant atmosphere, get Stardew Valley or Rune Factory 4. If you want a thrilling adventure you can take at your own pace, get Minecraft or The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Even if you’ve played those and are looking for something new, please don’t waste your time or money here. This is not a 'hidden gem'; the alluring presentation of Summer in Mara only acts as a pretty mask for a much uglier game beneath the surface – one that’s keen on wasting your time with no meaningful payoff.

Fit Dance For Wii U really wants to be perceived as a serious piece of fitness software, but it's buried beneath a pile of technical and aesthetic issues that has it struggling to keep up with the competition.

Even when everything's working, MythForce isn't much more than a bad port of a fun, but uninteresting game. That being said, we can't possibly recommend it in its launch state. We don't take half-baked efforts lightly, and this feels even less than that. With some patches and updates, MythForce could potentially turn things around, although we're very far from not optimistic. As things stand, avoid the Switch version of MythForce.

Although there is a small amount of saving to be had in buying two games together, the ones presented in TAP TAP ARCADE were already cheap enough that a few bits isn't that big a deal to most people. The crux comes down to whether these games are enjoyable, and while some might love rallying for high scores no matter what's being served, many will likely grow bored rather quickly with these offerings.

Serving up a mini-game collection with awkward motion controls and featuring sports that were never very popular to begin with, Triple Throwing Sports is an exercise in buyer's remorse.

Rapala Pro Bass Fishing seems to wish to coast on its attention to detail, but the stiff, unresponsive gameplay, annoying intrusions, terribly long loading times and seemingly broken controls make it all but impossible to appreciate the smaller things.

The animation is crisp, smooth and intermittently beautiful, but it's all in service of a game that doesn't seem to want to play with you.

MotoGP certainly isn’t going to give Mario Kart Wii a run for its money and it’d be a real shame if Capcom actually made a profit off of this.

The game itself is easy and fun to play, the characters are charming and the graphics are adorable, and multiplayer would be great for bringing in the kids for some good old-fashioned family fun, but the headaches and eye strain are not worth it. Unless you've got an HDTV and perfect vision, don't bother looking for this one unless you've got the patience necessary for plenty of trial and error.

A strong contender for the title of 'Worst 3DS Launch Game'. It has a sickening amount of bugs, is unfinished and reeks of a game that has been rushed for launch.

This is the same recycled thing we've seen over and over in the two years since Dong Nguyen had a surprise hit, and it's high time this vapid avian adventure took a permanent vacation.

Pool Billiard has to be one of the dullest experiences we’ve come across on Nintendo Switch so far. It functions in that it offers multiple games of pool to play, but it has nothing to serve up outside of that. This could have been somewhat alleviated by online functionality, but with no multiplayer in sight outside of a local match, you’re going to very quickly tire of playing against the AI. We strongly recommend waiting for a better pool experience to take on the go.

BearShark demonstrates what happens when an endless runner adheres a little too closely to the origins of that concept. This is a bland, uninspired, repetitive game, one that feels like it belongs in a browser window with flashing ads on either side.

Anne's Doll Studio: Gothic Collection might at least have held some appeal for a small audience, but its limited customisation is a big strike against a title whose entire appeal relies on creativity. Add to this a dull interface, poor design and confusing "white out" effect and you have a game that fails in both concept and execution. It's no wonder that these dolls look so depressed; Anne's Doll Studio had the same effect on us.

Thief of Thieves is an awful video game. It's tedious and clunky, has broken AI, awful dialogue, miserable characters and a boring story that has absolutely nothing of interest to say or add to the heist genre. Its cel-shaded, comic-book style graphics are a strong point, but they're compromised here by a weak Switch port that's too blurry in handheld mode and horribly pixelated when you dock it to play on a big screen. There are also a handful of unforgivable technical issues; noticeable framerate problems, a bug that crashes you back to your console's homescreen and overly long loading times that break up the gameplay far too often. In short, this is a crime-heist caper that's out to rob you of your time and money and is, in every conceivable way, much more of a snore than a score. Avoid.

My Style Studio: Hair Salon might have worked as a free, mildly competent flash game to distract kids with for a few minutes. Instead, it releases on Wii U as a lazy port of an already uninspired game, failing to add anything of substance.
