I don’t have any real complaints to make towards Word Party. It’s not trying to be as complex as titles like Nintendo Land or Wii Party U — this is a mini-game collection that’s centered around word puzzles. Added to that, it’s a simple indie game. Therefore, for what it’s trying to be, it succeeds.

Even though it’s great that the game is identical to all of the other versions, it still could have been so much better if they actually went ahead and used the console’s unique features. With that said, if you don’t already have Minecraft, it’s really up to you to decide if you want to shoot for the Wii U Edition or not.

If you have any other console or PC for gaming, you have so many better options in the online shooter genre to choose from that there is no good reason to give this one any of your time. If you only own a Wii U, you should be playing Splatoon, and if you only own a Wii U and absolutely must play a more “realistic” style of online shooter, then you still have the two Call Of Duty games.

Dementium Remastered is a great addition to the eShop, and shows the higher polished side of things that are available on it. The game packs quite a punch in terms of presentation, and the gameplay is mostly there to match it. Overall, Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon is an excellent spin-off title for the Pokemon franchise, one that proves that “children’s” games do not always have to be incredibly easy, do not have to always contain a terrible story, and can have an excellent soundtrack (yes, the music is really, really good).

That is because ultimately, in what the game tries to do, it succeeds completely: it creates an incredible, breathtaking, awe-inspiring world that is an absolute joy to run around in, to fight in, to collect in, to look around in, to be in. It may not have done so flawlessly, but Xenoblade Chronicles X gave me one of the finest worlds gaming has to offer, and it populated that world with incredible things to do.

Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash is a wonderful looking game with very little substance. The game is a hollow corpse when held up against the franchise’s history.
