One thing Call of Duty: Finest Hour manages to do with success is take everything from graphics to sound, from music to gameplay; and toss it all into one big can of whoop-ass and make a great game.

But even with the mini-games and ability to replay the levels, I'm not 100% sure how much of an interest the game will hold. I wonder if after 2-3 days with it even the kids will get bored. For that, I say renting it is the best bet.

There are enough countries, enough modes and good enough graphics and sound to make you forget you’re playing a handheld, and the controls should feel very natural (especially if you played on the PS2).

Shooting has been made a lot easier. That experiment of hitting the circle button twice to shoot is thankfully over. Instead, it's like a normal hoops game where you hold down the button until you get to the peak of your shot, and then let go.

While I would have liked to have seen online gameplay (and I do take off points for that), the single player campaign is very stong, and the storyline will keep you sucked into it. The controls are great, and the presentation is great.

This game doesn't have a whole lot going for it outside of the gorgeous backgrounds (which, again, are awesome). This is the first of the fully-featured Xbox 360 sports games from EA, and it's got everything you missed in the launch title. And it's definitely what I would consider to be a "next-generation" game. When you play it, you'll see from the kickoff exactly what I mean.
