It's just a shame that, for all this graphical and aural stimulation, the fighting mechanics are so basic.

WWE SuperCard is a fun and addicting game that is easy to pick up and play. It's so addictive that you can't play just one match, and you will want to keep playing until you find your favorite superstar(s). Hopefully, 2K Games releases a versus mode in a future update.

There are more upgrades, a greater diversity in environments, and more enemy types than ever before. Fans have likely already grabbed the game at launch - for everyone else, know that this new Kingdom Rush ensures the series remains at the top of this bloated genre.

Delightfully weird, you'll never look at a Petri dish the same way again, or lick one, for that matter. Yummy.

Whether or not Akihiro Hino and the crew at Level-5 built the world upon the foundation of the puzzles or vice versa, it melds into a cohesive miracle that's greater than the sum of its undeniably fantastic parts.

It's without question the greatest handheld Mario Kart yet, and a welcome addition to a phenomenal series.

The fact that it's far from a perfect game and not much of a step forward doesn't make it any less of a must-buy. The core single-player adventure is guaranteed to occupy you for more than thirty hours, and the promise of extensive global trading and (surprisingly deep) Wi-Fi battling awaits those who complete the main storyline. Get this game.

You won't play a more experimental, risky, fun and flamboyant endless-runner this year, and for that reason alone we're happy to recommend this as the best example of genre evolution we've seen in a very long time indeed. Bravo.

Most importantly, the game's a ton of fun and shockingly addictive. It literally came out of nowhere. Kudos to Pieces Interactive for releasing such a well-designed and cool App guaranteed to consume hours of our lives.

The deceptive simpleness of gameplay lends itself to complex and difficult tracks that make a player feel accomplished. Unlike a majority of iOS games, stabbing your finger at the screen won't win this one. It will take practice and skill and that's a good thing.

The game doesn't quite represent perfection as we found the difficulty level a little spiky, and the shuriken elements sit awkwardly with the gentler strategy found elsewhere. Nevertheless, Hundreds is a must-have title for anyone who craves something fresh from the App Store, and represents a fine start for puzzle gaming in 2013.

Format release concerns aside, Dual Destinies is a smartly-crafted, fantastic-looking Phoenix Wright game that you'd do well to pick up, especially since the first episode is free.

One could make the argument that Minigore 2: Zombies has little complexity and not enough weapons, but considering the $1.99 asking price, we think it's full of head-chopping, limb-blasting goodness. Play it to waste time. Play it to beat your high score, or just play it to let off some steam. Just make sure, above all else, that you play it.

Bike Baron may not be the most original of games, but who cares? This super tough app packs just the right amount of value into a small 37.4 MB package, and with possible updates on the way, you should definitely hop on this ride.

An immensely charming, clever and (despite the obvious influence of Lemmings) original game. Neat mechanics, simplistic yet pretty artwork and a fine, stirring chiptune make this a very easy recommendation for fans of puzzle and platform games alike.

Magic 2014 is just about everything that made Magic 2013 such a special game, and while it's not exactly revolutionary in its gameplay, we probably wouldn't want it any other way.

This really is a lovely game though, even if the journey is all too brief when you consider the $4.99 price-tag. If you're concerned that this modern re-imagining might not do the original experience justice, cast those concerns aside.

Visually, the game is excellent - and sometimes astounding. Ratchet's fluid animation must be seen to be believed, and there are moments (Clank's aerial levels come to mind) where the range of colors and particle effects will blow you away.
