The PSP version of Chinatown Wars is still superior, due to the less clumsy controls and included soundtrack. However, if an iPhone is all you have, this definitely doesn't feel like a second rate effort.

Is it more imaginative than Super Mario Galaxy? No. Will it revolutionize gaming like Super Mario 64. Hardly. Do either of these questions matter? Absolutely not, and don't let anyone prove otherwise. Super Mario 3D Land is the epitome of fun. Most importantly, it's a shining example of everything that's good and wholesome about video games.

A guilty pleasure, as well as one of the strangest yet satisfying titles on the App Store. To those who ask why this game exists, we only have one response: why not?

Pushmo is without question one of the best 3DS games we've played. It's great to see Nintendo step outside its comfort zone of critically acclaimed franchises and do something original that's both immensely entertaining and a neat showpiece for the hardware. There's no denying that tablets offer a unique opportunity to both breathe new life into the genre, as well as open it up to a new audience. Certainly Magic 2013 is the best game of its kind that we've played on the iPad.

The core gameplay may never evolve beyond steering directionally, flying through hoops, gathering stars and proceeding along a series of on-rails levels. But it's done so competently, and with some much care and attention to detail, that you won't fail to fall in love with Kiloo's new creation.

Is this touchscreen Limbo a perfect port of the original masterpiece? Not quite, and there are certainly moments where you'll cry out for the precision that only a physical controller can provide. Still, these moments are rare enough to ensure that this mobile version remains nothing less than outstanding overall.

If you couldn't play Kingdom Rush the first time around, you owe it to yourself to play it now.

A delightful trip through a macabre fun house full of blood and assorted horrors that should not be missed by anyone who enjoys playing games, that is, unless you're just sick of 2D Castlevania.

It's an outstanding experience regardless of which control scheme (tilt, virtual slider) you use. Kudos to Sega for releasing such an excellent port that instantly became the best kart racer on the App Store.

They did such an excellent job imbuing the heroes with personality while creating a gorgeous world for them to explore, pulling art from the Old West and merging it with cool undersea scenery; everything has a nice summery feel. Even the title screen that features parallax scrolling is cool. A nice touch, indeed.

There's a chance you'll dislike DrawRace 2, since sketching routes takes a backseat to hitting the gas and steering the car. It also doesn't help that your finger obscures the racing line, forcing you to rely on instinct; you eventually get a feel for it. Racing strategists, on the other hand, will happily dive into DrawRace 2 and play this sucker for months.

That ChAIR was able to create such a wonderful sequel in a year is a true testament to the talented people working at the studio. With this in mind, Infinity Blade 2 is one of the year's most thrilling video games, a gorgeous and feature packed adventure that demands your attention. In terms if iOS killer apps, it stands alone.

Like waves crashing onto a white sandy beach, it's a spectacular elemental fusion that lulls you into a zen-like state, a type of serenity that relaxes your body as well as your mind as you peacefully walk its shores. An artistic achievement and a must buy, Lumines is therapy for the soul.

Far too many of the NSMB levels are simply too short. Even in the final world, it feels as though you're hitting the midway restart point in seconds, and then crossing the finish line when the level was just hitting its stride.

While it isn't as fast as other titles in its genre such as "F-Zero GX," it more than makes up for its lack of quickness with dreamy visuals, a fabulous artistic style, memorable music, tight analog controls, and promised downloadable content, making it one of the few absolute must-have PSP launch titles.

A wonderful video game that'll hopefully blossom into a more fully featured effort in the months ahead.

Joe Danger Touch represents everything about mobile gaming at its best. It's faithful to an established franchise, yet it strikes out on its own to provide a game that's as slick as its console counterpart, remains challenging but fair, and is always entertaining thanks to a deep system of replayability.

The characters are gross. The actual game play, on the other hand, is golden. You only receive so much ammunition per character, and once it runs out, you must restart that stage from the beginning. What ensues is slow paced fun, as you strategize the best ways to annihilate the Blots.

Humorous, original and challenging (perhaps a little too challenging at times), Girls Like Robots should go to the top of the download list for any puzzle gamer who thinks they've seen everything the genre has to offer.

Not being able to select the correct Meteos in a pinch made me very frustrated, and frantically rubbing the touch screen to get myself out of jams cheapens the game's strategic element.

80 Days is a colorful and stylized look at a classic tome that places a new twist on an otherwise familiar game type. It's well worth your time, especially if you're looking for something a little more "out of the box" when it comes to mobile gaming.

Mikey Shorts did a lot for the platforming market last year, and for just under two bucks, Mikey Hooks does even better with a new mode, a great new gameplay tactic and that same wonderful presentation from the original. One play and you'll be, ahem, hooked.

Rayman Origins is one hot box of rocks. Arguably, it is PlayStation Vita's best launch game, a content and graphically rich experience that serves as a loyal handheld companion, perfectly suited for long or short play sessions. In other words, worth every penny of its $39.99 asking price.

Crossy Road is how free gaming should be done. It's fun fast-paced gameplay is a blast to pass the time while waiting in lines or just if you want to zone out for a while. However, if you're someone that needs some depth to be entertained you won't find it here.

The innovative controls (did I mention the rumble?), the huge amount of microgames, and the overall quality of WarioWare Twisted! ranks it right up there with the original, far surpassing even the Nintendo DS version as the most impressive WarioWare title yet.

That aside, X and Y are great editions to the Pokemon franchise, ideal for gamers who walked away from the series and hardcore fans who have been there the whole way. On that note, generation six is a mega evolution of its own. With this in mind, we highly recommend X and Y for any Pokemon fan or 3DS owner looking to complete their game collections.
