It's enough to satisfy both longtime fans and newcomers to Nintendo's charming franchise. New Leaf doesn't necessarily play like other games, but that's why we appreciate it. Whereas other titles assault the senses with over-the-top action sequences, this one provides a welcome escape. Cherish it.

Shenanigans aside, this is a well-designed and tricky puzzle game that rewards creativity. It also helps that the designers let you restart puzzles from any point with zero load times, and user friendly controls allow you to view a structure from multiple angles.

The developers packed a ton of value into a tiny $0.99 package. Smart, fun and addictive, this is one iPhone title you need to play.

So Year Walk is much more than a single riddle, wrapped in a single, mysterious enigma. It's an intricately blended experience of puzzles and exploration, with seemingly forgotten clues returning to the surface later on. That those puzzles often unravel in a somewhat illogical order is the only real complaint we have about the game - it's more of a journey through a developer's imagination than a traditional game, and it's a relatively brief experience too.

As a collection of surprisingly strategic challenges though, this is one game that deserves a place on every mobile puzzle gamer's phone.

That aside, X and Y are great editions to the Pokemon franchise, ideal for gamers who walked away from the series and hardcore fans who have been there the whole way. On that note, generation six is a mega evolution of its own. With this in mind, we highly recommend X and Y for any Pokemon fan or 3DS owner looking to complete their game collections.

But it has to be mentioned, forever again, that what is here was a game brilliantly executed on many fronts.

We had an absolute blast playing Fieldrunners 2, and recommend the title to any tower-defense fan. Even those who typically shy away from the genre will find a very different, and very enjoyable strategy title here.

Simply put, WarGames is awesome. Head-to-head multiplayer would sweeten the deal, but as it stands, this is one of the finest match-three puzzlers on the App Store, as well as a shockingly good movie-based game; there aren't many of those available.

Even though most of the presentation and general gameplay hasn't changed much from previous Pokemon adventures, both HeartGold and SoulSilver have an adequate amount of content, online and off, to keep you exploring until the next sequel arrives.

Infinity Blade is beautiful, gripping and intense. Most importantly, its creators delivered a console quality experience in your hands, so while it's a wonderfully designed and thoroughly enjoyable brawler, this title also stands out as a killer app, the type of thing that solidifies Apple's iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch as legitimate contenders to the portable gaming throne.

Outwitters does a great job of offering up some seriously meaty content for absolutely nothing. There's some fine strategy to be had online, although the experience is very dependent on the commitment and availability of your particular opponent.

A textbook example of how to seamlessly blend a game with a movie, and with additional levels on the way, it's a must play for longtime fans as well as newcomers.

This is simply a winning formula, through and through. Buy it. Love it.

Platform Panic is a very fun and addictive platformer.

Fans of the previous game won't need a review - they'll already have grabbed the game at launch. For those entirely new to the series though, know that while Super Stickman Golf 2 is fiendishly addictive, and stuffed to the brim with content and challenges, there are just a few inelegant fumbles when it comes to dipping deeper into your pockets.

Fortunately, there's enough variety and imagination in the level design, not to mention humor in the game's storytelling, to help Icebreaker just about rise above these concerns. You can expect a stiffer challenge here than you'll get from the average physics puzzler, but that's not necessarily a bad thing in 2013.
