It's a good but shallow experience.

Team Lava put too big a handicap on this one, asking for money at almost every opportunity. Bottom line, it's a turnoff.

A cool and affordable brainteaser that'll keep you busy for hours. Download it immediately and find the lost Ark. Just don't let it melt your face.

Had C2Matrix nixed the concept of saving alliance members, iStriker would have been one of the best shooters on the App Store. Because of that questionable decision, it's one of the most disappointing.

Cool idea, loveable character, challenging play, but not a game changer. We've seen and played this type of App numerous times before.

The publisher made a big mistake with the controls. Don't even think about swiping in one fluid motion; you know, to mimic rolling a ball. Here, you simply tap two meters that gauge how straight the ball travels and power. It's even worse in Puzzle mode, which asks you to drag an image of a balling ball to a specific area, letting your character do the actual work.

Is it perfect? No. The missions eventually grow tiresome, and you'll likely give up the grind, but for a dollar, it's worth a look.

Flick Rocket lacks content. The endless mode will keep you busy for a little while (with Game Center support), and the story mode provides a bit more value, but we want more; the developers have an update on the way.

A good, but not great, beat-em-up always looking for a handout. You don't have to pay. At the same time, you probably won't have as much fun if you don't.

In the end, Desert Quest is just too blah to enjoy, and the fact that there's no iPad version (or at the very least, universal support) is another strike against it. Don't let the attractive artwork trick you into spending two bucks. Leave this one in the past.

It's definitely a fun way to pass the time, though we wish the game had more content. An endless mode, linked to an online leaderboard, would have raised the appeal, considerably. To that end, Game Center support would be a welcome addition as well.

Look, we get it. They're not angry birds. They're silly owls. Cue the laugh track. That's fine, but there needs to be a good game to back up the supposedly kooky protagonists, and unfortunately, we couldn't find one.

It has some good concepts, but ultimately, Climber Brothers is much too irritating to enjoy.

Jaws Revenge is a smartly designed and brutal action game that should satisfy your inner Carcharodon Carcharias. Eat all you want, but take what you eat.

Not a bad game at all, though we would have loved more options and a better presentation, including the ability to create our own avatars.

Despite the pretty drawings, Age of Monsters has nothing else going for it. We thought such mindless nonsense died shortly following the App Store's release, back when developers flooded Apple's online store with shovel ware. Sadly, it appears some creators still feel the need to waste everyone's time.

At the end of the day, this is more of a promotional vehicle for Prototype 2, with screenshots between puzzles and a link to the game's website. That said, it's still worth a look.

An excellent puzzle game that'll keep you rotating cubes and scoring corner matches for weeks. Kudos to the developers for trying something different.

Whether or not you should purchase the game depends on how big a fan you are. Of course, the app is a must buy for newcomers, since it's one of the iPhone and iPad's more enjoyable (and shamelessly violent) titles. Besides, it's only a buck.

For a buck, Splishi Splashi offers a few hours of fun, especially if you aim to climb the Game Center leaderboard. If anything, it gives new perspective to our place on the food chain.

Sadly, Centipede Infestation has "first generation 3DS title" written all over it, from the lackluster guns to the average graphics. You may enjoy it in bursts, but don't pay full price.

Alien Hominid: PDA Games is a delightful effort every App Store user should own. If only The Behemoth would release Alien Hominid proper, we'd be set.

The shark looks cool in glasses free 3D, the familiar JAWS theme song is a welcome addition and the violence never gets old. JAWS: Ultimate Predator doesn't sit among the 3DS elite, but it's surprisingly fun.

What's especially cool about Backyard Bounce, though, are the multiple solutions per puzzle. In fact, you don't even have to use all of the items, opening the door for the sort of creativity unseen in these types of games; there's normally one solution.
