Dead Island 2 is the first game on steroids, with all the good and bad that implies. It's a sequel with no risks, which means that those who never fell in love with this kind of game probably won't fall in love with this one either. It doesn't change the formula. But it doesn't need to, either. In terms of zombie survival with RPG elements, multiplayer and non-stop action, there's no better game than this one.- Malditos Nerds

Robobeat offers an experience that, while not escaping the boundaries set by the roguelite genre, fully immerses us in its proposal thanks to rhythm-based gameplay, accompanied by a brutal soundtrack.- Malditos Nerds

The ¿closing chapter? in the Cuphead series comes with a lot of delicacies to taste: a new island, impressive level bosses and secrets to discover. One of the most entertaining experiences of 2022.- Malditos Nerds

In summary, although the title doesn't reinvent the genre's formula, it's a very good sequel that everybody who played the first title will enjoy. Besides, it has a nice graphic design that makes both the external and internal views enjoyable. House Flipper 2 covers many mechanics, but it manages to let the player customize his experience, either by focusing on cleaning or on building and decorating.- Malditos Nerds

Bloober Team found the balance between innovation and respect for the original work. What made Silent Hill 2 an unforgettable title is still there. However, horror is a gimmicky genre, of emotions and impacts, and repetition is its greatest enemy. Because if the scares are repeated, they are no longer scary, but frustrating. Silent Hill 2 Remake has the same pacing flaws as The Evil Within or Silent Hill: Downpour: it's a satisfying game that sees us reach the credits with a good taste in our mouths, but when we recap, the overall experience deflates more than once.- Malditos Nerds

The most important thing in this type of work is what it conveys. Neva achieves this correctly and clearly, despite occasionally feeling a bit photocopied. It has an identity of its own that at times is diluted in the format so attached to its predecessor. It's a solid experience about growing up and the changing dynamics of motherhood, where we can understand it both as children and as parents.- Malditos Nerds

During the early days of Dragon Ball Z, many characters refer to Gohan as a fighter with great hidden potential, that if he could channel it the right way, he would be even more powerful than Goku. Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is like Gohan: a great game that offers a lot and does a lot of things right, but if it had more development time or a better perspective, it could easily rank as the best Dragon Ball title.- Malditos Nerds

As a narrative adventure, Swansong delivers a good balance of exploration, character development, narrative decisions, puzzles and investigation. And as a board game adaptation, it is perhaps the most faithful game to Vampire: The Masquerade and a proof that video games can also adapt much more than the combat system of a pen and paper role-playing games.- Malditos Nerds

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge - Radical Reptiles is the latest jewel in the crown of the king of modern beat 'em ups. On its own, two extra characters may not seem like much, but this is a low-priced DLC that aims to perfect an already fantastic experience. Add to this the great remix mode, packed with top artists, and there's no doubt that Tribute Games and Dotemu's game has a privileged place as a referent in its genre.- Malditos Nerds

Gestalt: Steam & Cinder is a good metroidvania with a healthy dose of interesting characters and dialogue. When it comes to combat and exploration it's fun, and while bosses can be a bit easy, it's never boring. Short and ideal to get started in the genre.- Malditos Nerds

Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels is what we expected of racing these type of cars: adrenaline given by the mechanics of the game and an exorbitant show. All this makes up a package that can be taken very seriously by scale model fans and enjoyed in the most arcade-like way possible by newcomers of the hobby.- Malditos Nerds

Conscript is a survival horror that celebrates the classics, paying respect to their mechanics and with a truly terrifying context. The combat system is a bit rough, but the rest of the game compensates and in a matter of hours it becomes an exciting experience.- Malditos Nerds

Another Crab's Treasure isn't the messiah of souls, but it doesn't pretend to challenge From Software's work either, but it does take the basic elements that the studio knew how to create and bring them to its comfort zone to generate a unique, narrative experience, with a lot of humour and which is an excellent entry point for new users to this genre. Those who are already familiar with these experiences will feel at home and will not find it hard to get into this underwater world that, by dint of great moments and a package of good ideas, undoubtedly generates more smiles than anxiety.- Malditos Nerds

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has some things that overshadow the experience, including the classic Ubisoft bugs and a visual performance that at times is controversial, but there is no doubt that it is a great, enjoyable and complete experience. A step in the right direction. The game is the result of great ideas that worked well in other recent games, and were very well captured in this new installment of Prince of Persia. I hope the numbers go with it, because I would love to see in the future how they can make a sequel with much more confidence than what this game represents.- Malditos Nerds

Watch Dogs: Legion is undoubtedly the best of the series, the one that is closest to bringing the experience promised by that trailer of the first game. Hacks are useful and the lack of a fixed character ends up making DedSec the true protagonist and, since we recruit, control and manage the operators, in the end we end up feeling part of the resistance.- Malditos Nerds

Windbound is a survival game that takes inspiration in both Breath of the Wild and Wind Waker, two iconic games in the Zelda franchise. The work done by 5 Lives Studios results in a rather nice game experience—especially the sea sailing—that, sadly, feels constantly restricted by its own limitations.- Malditos Nerds

The Flower Collectors, with a simple story, shows to what extent society can normalize human rights violations, homophobia, transphobia and demonization of artists to the point of kidnapping, torture and organized murder. These themes aren't much common in the gaming industry, and this game is much worth it because of the way it tackles them.- Malditos Nerds

Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath succeeds in everything. The story is highly entertaining, the new characters are very interesting and even the free content adds much more to a game that already had many good elements. But nothing that can be said takes away the fact that Aftermath is expensive for those who already have the game. It is especially frustrating considering that there are more DLC characters in development, and that surely next year we will have a new collection that for $60 that includes everything again.- Malditos Nerds

Mortal Shell is the first soulslike to understand the true essence of the genre and, therefore, deserves a place above any other exponent not developed by From Software. Manor Lords is a title with potential, although we will have to wait patiently to see it. This, undoubtedly, can deter the more impatient from giving it a chance. The progression is slow, and we might have to start several games from scratch to get the hang of it. On the contrary, those who are accustomed to this type of game will find here a beautiful and mechanically impressive city builder. [Early Access Review]- Malditos Nerds

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a sequel that stays true to its roots, but in the best way possible. It recaptures what made the original unique and enhances it with new vocations to choose from and dozens of skills to master. It's an adventure across two gigantic continents to explore, brimming with mysteries and treasures, and a strong presence of mythological beasts to defeat. [Review in Progress]- Malditos Nerds

The Callisto Protocol is a sublime horror experience in atmosphere and immersion, offering a worthy challenge when it comes to single-enemy combat or against a mini-boss. The problem appears when the hordes arrive: when fighting many enemies, the rough combat mechanics are very noticeable. And being such a combat-centric survival horror, these shortcomings keep it from being one of the best of the year. [Review in Progress]- Malditos Nerds

After a year in Early Access, Unrailed is a party game that challenges us to keep a little train rolling towards the next station, having to craft and place the rails on the go. The game offers the option to play single player, but it’s clear the game’s strong point relies on its multiplayer experience. [Early Access Score = 80]- Malditos Nerds
