Soul Sacrifice is a heavy action-rpg with a great moral choice system. Even if the camera controls are poor and there are a few graphical quirks the developer Marvelous AQL delivers an awesome game with lots of replayability. If you own a PS Vita you owe yourself to play this game.

With Volume Mike Bithell has managed to create a finely tuned mix of stealth and action gameplay that continues to impress all the way through. Just like in his last game Thomas Was Alone the gameplay in Volume isn't overly complicated but it's backed up by a great story. Overall it's a great experience and one of the best in its genre.

The fights are the best in the genre but everything else feels out of date and the design is disgraceful. Luckily, the game is all about the battles.

Bad Company 2 is a great sequel in every way. While improved compared to the first game the campaign mode still only offers a fleeting chunk of entertainment that serves as an appetizer for the online multiplayer mode where DICE, as usual, shine. While your ability to choose different settings for online battles are somewhat limited the actual matches are fun, intense and offer great improvement for the squad based experience.

On the surface you might get the impression that little has changed between the second and third installment of EA's life simulator, but when you delve deeper into the experience you'll find a game that offers you more unique characters, an increased ability to participate in social activities outside of the confines of the house and less focus on tedious daily chores. For the first time your sim and the world surrounding him/her feels truly unique. As per usual you only get the basic features in the package, leaving an almost clean slate ready for future expansions. Nevertheless, EA's done it again and you'll find countless hours of great fun here.

A real killer app for the Vita, with tons of cozy charm. The campaign is great and the game makes good use of the Vita's touch controls. There is a lot of user created material too, thanks to the great level editor.

Level 5's highly anticipated collaboration with Studio Ghibli is just as great as it looks. And it looks great. The art style is exactly what you'd expect from Studio Ghibli, and the same goes for the music. Battles are fought with familiars, that you collect and train throughout the game. It's not a revolution, but it does almost everything right.

The usual Ratchet & Clank mixture of platform elements, problem solving and shooting, but the best game in the series so far. Insomniac gives us a large universe to explore freely with smarter problems, a well-needed higher difficulty setting and lots of things to collect.

Dark Souls is severely uncompromising. You will die again and again, hundreds of times - but It doesn't matter. In this dark and beautiful fantasy masterpiece you will still come back for more.

Don’t get scared off by the simple graphics. This is a brilliant game. The news from the DS version is few but it feels as a full sized GTA game. The story, the car chases, the missions and the characters are all there to make it yet another brilliant chapter in the GTA saga.

Rockstar manages to make a massive game even more massive and likeable. The new first person mode offers a completely unique way of experiencing the game, which together with 1080p and other graphical upgrades makes this recommendable to both new and returning customers alike.

The follow-up to one of last year's best games is an enchanted version of the same masterpiece. Battles are more expansive and go way deeper than before. The higher difficulty levels alongside the Iron Man Mode gives the gameplay an incredible nerve and challenge. Xcom Enemy Within might as well also be one of this years best games.

Despite a questionable predecessor and a somewhat rushed release in time for Christmas, Bioware has managed to create a fantastic adventure that easily ranks among the best games of the year. If you want to sink your teeth into a deep and long lasting role playing game, Dragon Age Inquisition is the game to get.

Flower can be seen as a statement about society versus nature, to be interpreted by the player as he or she wishes. To be specific it's a game where you fly a leaf from a flower through nature, in the process gathering other leaves. As time goes by your entourage of leaves grow in size and before you know it you've got enough to bring life back to the previously barren fields. Flower is as much of a meditative experience as it is a beautiful piece of art. A subjective experience as this is hard to grade, but a great experience it is if you're susceptible.

Super Mario 3D World is not only a great Wii U game. It’s a great reason to buying the whole system. Everything from the graphics to the controls is sculpted to perfection. It’s also one of the best co-op games we’ve played in a long time.

The first two entries in the Metroid Prime saga proved to naysayers that bringing the Metroid franchise to life in the third dimension was possible, and in doing so developer Retro Studios created the best action adventures to grace the now defunct Gamecube. The third and final installment in the series threw Wii motion controls into the mix. With Metroid Prime Trilogy we're offered the definite version of the series where all three titles now boast Wii controls, 480p resolution and widescreen support. You won't get more bang for your buck on the Wii than this.

Much is the same in A Link Between Worlds. Just like in A Link to the Past you follow Link from a birds-eye perspective in both light and dark worlds. But A Link Between Worlds is not merely a simple game of nostalgia but one that perfectly blends the new and old Zelda games. The result is one of the best games in the series.

With an updated version of the original game and all the content from the Reaper of Souls expansion, Diablo III Ultimate Evil Edition is a great experience that will keep you entertained for hours. Thanks to the ability to play with up to four friends on the same screen, it is also the best version of Diablo III.

The second expansion to the gargantuan behemoth of a game that is World of Warcraft, titled Wrath of the Lich King, sets you on the quest to defeat the evil Lich King Arthas. The presentation has been improved and the overall design of the new continent Northrend is nothing short of impressive. A lot of the caveats found in World of Warcraft, and the expansion The Burning Crusade, have been removed. The only major issue is that it feels as though World of Warcraft is becoming a tad bit too easy, but nevertheless this is a fantastic expansion and a must for gamers everywhere.

What visual novel Steins;Gate lacks in gameplay it certainly makes up for with one of the best, most complex and most touching stories I have experienced in video games. It centers around a few youths in Tokyo who accidentally invents a machine that can send messages back in time. The mix of science fiction and drama is further lifted by its memorable characters, in part thanks to good Japanese voice actors. On the negative side, the rare parts of interaction among all text boxes feel a bit illogical at times, some of the characters are less memorable and there is a little bit of unnecessary fan service. These things will hardly be on the mind of anyone getting into the story though.

Bilzzard offers us an engrossing and well crafted single player campaign combined with a multiplayer mode crafted to perfection in StarCraft II. You won't find any other real time strategy game that comes close to this level of craftsmanship. Add to this meaty options for content creation and what you get is a game well worth the long wait.

Almost perfect control in this puzzle shooter with lots of smart ideas. A fun multiplayer mode and the addictive co-op makes it a brilliant sequel to a great game.

The second installment in the hard rocking franchise may seem familiar at first, but the fact is that there are several minor and major additions here that do a lot to improve the overall experience. You can now play the campaign online and there is a new training mode for all of us that are struggling with learning the drums. There are 84 new songs to rock out to and an additional 20 to download for free. This is in fact a buy even for those who bough the first Rock Band, and for those who own neither it's a must have.

Abe's adventure is better than ever in this remake of the Playstation-classic from 1997. The charm from the original remains intact even though the game has taken a huge technical leap from 2D into a 3D-plattformer with beautiful graphics. Unfortunately the controls feel rather outdated at times but at the end of the day this slight problem is nothing that ruins Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty from being a brilliant remake of an instant classic.
